I've seen these too and they really rub me the wrong way. We have gamewide mingles for that, or IC inboxes if you just want to thread with your ship partner. If it's a log with an actual starter/intended purpose that gets reused for other stuff, perfect, love it, that's fine. But an essentially blank post with different starter comments, I just don't like.
it's worse because they're mainly used within the cliquiest casts, and feels like it's meant as some kind of gateway to entry. that's the big difference between catchalls and open logs, catchalls aren't really open.
