i do have deets but out of respect for it being from PMs i'm not going to drop them. it's the way they handle things and act kind of obtuse. it comes across as rude to me as a player who hasn't been around since the start of the game and they always feel the need to say "you should have read the info for this" when the summary you are given in the acceptance letters is, well, a summary. no i don't need to know the nuances of the game if those nuances haven't been added to game pages. it's stuff like that where i kind of scratch my head at their behavior.

i asked the question because i wasn't sure if i missed it but they'd act peeved when i would say as much. i'm not the type of player who goes "hand me information" but if i'm asking for it, it means i have tried to find it and didn't. i'm not purposefully trying to be annoying and they always come off like I inconvenienced them.

tbf quite a few players don't read the info that's already there. i've been guilty of skimming over stuff and not really reading it in the past. you say that you aren't the type to go 'hand me info' but then in the next sentence you imply that you ask quite a bit. if i were them, i'd be annoyed if the same people always came asking.

I didn't implying anything. I said if I'm asking a question I already searched for information. Asking questions is sort of playing in a game, especially when there are involved plots so complaining someone is proactive sounds dumb.

let me bold the parts where you're wrong.

i'm not the type of player who goes "hand me information" but if i'm asking for it, it means i have tried to find it and didn't.

that doesn't imply that they ask quite a bit. it just states that any time they ask for something, it's done after a fruitless attempt to find it themselves. stop projecting.

and ftr, if a mod can't handle people asking them things, they shouldn't be a mod. rule one of modding; if numerous people are asking you the same thing that you've already written down somewhere, maybe you're not expressing it properly and you need to reword it. if your standard answer is 'it's in the faq' without actually reading what the request is, you shouldn't be the mod dealing with people, because if you miss the 'i looked in the faq and couldn't find ____' the problem here is you, the mod. not the player.

as a player who has asked for information and been given it quickly and without any 'rudeness', sounds to me like someone is reading too much into something.

1) i don't think the "kind of obtuse" is an act lol

2) tbh the way you phrased this just sounds to me like they answered bluntly and you're taking something personal that isn't there out of it. are you sure that isn't what's happening?

yes, i am sure that isn't what is happening. there is a difference between blunt and being condescending. as an example:

player: hey i tried to find information on thing, but couldn't. before i ask anything detailed did i miss the information anywhere?
mod: x is in the previous game event write ups you should have read.

and

player: hey i tried to find information on thing, but couldn't. before i ask anything detailed did i miss the information anywhere?
mod: x information is located here (link), but is also easily accessible through x page if you need more thorough details.

that's what i mean. one is helpful and still blunt. one is not helpful and blunt.
