bismuth isn't even an antagonist though, she's still portrayed as a hero, just a tragic one and i'm not against seeing those roles with minority characters. the only real antagonists is jasper, who could be redeemed, and the diamonds.
and there's garnet and human black characters on the show who are obviously not bad guys. but i'm so tired of this idea that it's safer for minority characters in fiction to have no flaws, just because parts of fandom is stupid and mistakes a character having flaws with them being evil.
did you? read the damn thread. read the whole thread. worst part of this is that op doesn't seem to be that mad about it and is just upset that flakes are making more noise about it, but they 'understand' the frustration others feel. which then devolved into 'you're all stupid. just change accounts and refresh. stupids'. which then went into not everyone is on a device to switch accounts and people like to be informed, which had them latching onto 'no one needs to boomerang. just refresh and go touch grass'.
so people are literally mad that people are complaining about a service they pay for not working properly and they're mad because flakes are whining and boomerangers need to touch grass because clearly if one person is okay with just manually refreshing, everyone else should be because it's the one true path.
also curious what game op is in, as i've very rarely seen poly stuff going on in a game.
i think you're right about the issue being people not wanting to play conflict in a relationship, though (consider how many breakups you see people actually play out in game vs. "true love until somebody drops, followed by crying on the network")
there are some people who are in rp for fluff, not conflict, and who can get very upset when their characters look like the "bad guy" in any argument. frankly i find that play style incredibly boring, but there's no point in trying to critique it, because it's the fluff they're here for and they find negative cr upsetting. just mark them down as a legitimate case of play styles conflicting with yours, and move on to other cr.
i'd rather spend my effort elsewhere. everyone knows an obnoxious overbearing topic hog is annoying and bad social manners. you're not going to win that fight, anon, so don't even try
that's not even a "well maybe it could be real!!" situation like some of the text leaks or the final starter evo art. the creator straight up posted it to his twitter along with other fakemons and people started passing it along as real.
"super high school level" is still being used as an official translation in japan on merchandising/official art/etc too. "ultimate" is what the localization uses, but "super high school level" is definitely just as much of an official translation for 超高校級, not just a reference to the first let's play translation.
nah, she was an antagonist in that episode. keep in mind that the term antagonist isn't a judgment on a character's morality or inherent goodness. all it means is the character opposes the protagonist in the plot. when she attacked steven and they fought, she became an antagonist.
What I meant by "correct" is that when an official term is picked, that's the correct term. And I can see why NISA went that route, OP points it out nicely. To an English speaking audience, the mention of high school gives an poor impression of immaturity. What we see as talented are people who do something professionally and make a lot of money with it, or have otherwise won awards for what they do.
...ppl do this?? I've known ppl to link their dropped CR a post like "look they miss you!!" but I always thought that was kinda tacky/manipulative. I didn't think anyone who dropped would a) stalk comms or b) get pissed if their character wasn't mentioned
Mostly cos they dropped for a reason (time, they're a flake) and ...didn't have the devotion to stalk the comm while they were there.
But all y'all bitches is crazy so who the fuck knows what y'all do after dropping.
