just saying how it felt. the second her clique commented, she closed the post. if she had that intention or not, idk, but that's how it felt and that's how it looked since we all know by now all she wants to do is to tag her clique and no one else
like anon above said, she has a case of "rp adhd" and wants to do everything right this second, so that would explain it, but still came off as not wanting anyone but her clique to tag her
they're probably arguing that hetero is the only relationship type represented in whatever canon so it's contributing to the "het is the default and only way"
it's not hate on straights or wanting to get rid of them, it's wanting equal representation
idk wtf they mean when they say it about real life couples though, that sounds like bullshit tumblrinas who learnt another sociological term and are going to misuse it til no one knows what it means anymore
oh no, i'm sorry. i didn't mean for it to sound like i think she's some evil mastermind. i was trying to explain the difference between why a closed post is ok and closing an open post came off as cliquey, i wasn't addressing the rest. that was my bad.
it looked to me like she started off with the post because it seemed fun but then when the clique responded, she was done with wanting anyone else and closed it because she'd gotten tags she wanted and she doesn't care about threading with characters outside the clique.
it's not hate on straights or wanting to get rid of them, it's wanting equal representation
but wanting no representation for bisexuals because if a character dares to look at the opposite sex, they're one of those icky str8s again, because bisexuality doesn't exist.
is this seriously about ffxv? ship what you will (noctis/luna and prompto/cindy are honestly cute af imo) but i felt like it was the polar opposite of toxic masculinity if absolutely nothing else. like, i kind of thought that was the reason dudes didn't like it and wrote it off as being "gay".
I used to see "heteronormative" applied to situations where either a, a character was assumed straight even if they had no love interests or stated sexuality, or b, two characters are in a same-sex relationship but still expected to act under the norms of opposite-sex relationships (like asking "who is the man and who is the woman").
If people are applying it to real life straight couples (as opposed to expectations placed on same-sex couples) then idk what they're talking about.
maybe she wanted it open and didn't add a 'will close this when x requirements/# of people tag in' and it just happened that all her friends tagged her first/closed off that avenue of rping. you're coming off way more butthurt here that she was intentionally trying to lead people on with an open post only to tee hee close it before anyone but her already established cr tagged it. sometimes they're the ones that hit it first. maybe instead of crying here about your made up machinations, you can leave a comment on their hmd (if they have one) about making more open posts.
though, if they have other posts that are open and stay open, you sound more like you're just looking for reasons to be salty, in which case, you might want to visit the dead sea.
it's not even that really. like, it's not like x number of people tagged in and then the post was closed. it was a post about x character. x character tagged in, threaded for a bit, and ICly asked persephone to take the video down. then persephone icly took the video down. this might be a little obnoxious if she had been planning from the beginning to icly take it down, but i'm pretty sure that's not the case. the thread naturally progressed to the point where it would be ic for persephone to delete the video, so she did.
like i said above, she didn't close it the second anyone responded. closing the post was specifically an IC response to an IC event. she tagged with her friends with the post still open for a while, only closing it once it was ICly determined that persephone would delete the post.
so what this really is is a case of someone blurring the ic/ooc line and not realizing there were ic reasons to close it and just assuming it's clique stuff.
Oh yeah, I definitely saw some comments like that. It was kind of weird considering the design choice, but this fandom can be odd about that kind of stuff anyway.
i guess all i can say is that brains in jars at least usually tend to be the same species to begin with than an ape but if you want the gorilla wang power to you
deny the request. if they contact you about it, just say that you already follow a lot of plurks and you're not looking to add new people to your timeline right now.
i can't believe this game has been open for so many years and even gone through a complete reband and the playerbase is still more concerned with micromanagey complaints about cliques than they are with actually rping
never change, capemask, never change
