that's what happens when you have a large plurk list. i have a very, very tiny one and have seen 2 plurks. more people, more of a chance more people will want to make their own 'i'm sad about a thing' plurk. it's also fandom related, so this is going to be a thing for a while.
if you're playing with someone that literally drops their thread with you in any meme because a new one came up, you just found out early that they're shit. you realize that different people like different things, yes? and if you're playing in that meme, other people might play in it. and come saturday, when the rehash post goes up, most people dip through those to see who else has posted in a meme they liked that week.
really hating this idea that memes have expiry dates or that if they're not on the front page or first meme, they won't get any play. utilize your scroll button. try tagging out more yourself.
50s or 60s isn't really that old, considering a lot more people are making it to their 80s and 90s than before. and a lot of them were still active in their careers and hadn't really gone into retirement - i know bowie's death hit hard for some because he'd just released a new album literally right before he died and it's hard to realize that 'this is really it'.
stop acting like you're the only fandom who's ever dealt with an actor/staff member/etc. dying.
also, stop acting like non-fans are heartless shitlords because they're not dropping everything to cry about your star wars waifu with you.
i have absolutely no interest in star wars and i'm not going to say anything more than "i'm not a star wars fan but i hope she rests in peace." guess what, i'm a fucking anime fan, i don't give a fuck about star wars, and the more you fucking cry at me, the more i fucking hate it.
other star wars fans manage to not be fucking (wo)manchildren about this, take a hint from them and calm your whiny fucking tits.
plenty of famous people i care about died, you don't see me trying to guilt-trip fucking strangers into caring about them.
You can always just tag around them and pretend they aren't there until they actually show up in-tag. Then they have only themselves to blame for not getting anything interesting out of it.
It's impossible when that's the majority of the people in the plot. I've been in plots where I tag, then the plot runner tags, then I wait a few days for someone else to tag and they don't. Then I tag the plot OP again and wait and that's it. No one will fucking tag. They want the brownie points for their character being involved but don't actually want to do anything.
Not to mention that she has always been vocal that the men who fetishized her in her role as Leia were disgusting fuck nuggets. Carrie Fisher was no one's waifu and was pretty damn clear that she hated that fandom aspect.
Respect her personhood, for fuck's sake she wasn't an object.
i mean, none of us actually knew carrie fisher personally, nor do we know anyone who knows her, so this doesn't make sense to me. what else would it be about other than the person reacting's feelings? they don't have anyone else's feelings to look after.
i'm actually not trying to be an asshole, i genuinely don't understand what you expect people to talk about if not their feelings
tbh a lot of "ex" weebs, especially in dwrp, think they're far enough out of that embarrassing tweenie stage and that they're mature and self aware enough to start using weeb talk again while being ~~~ironic~~ about it
what they don't realize is slowly, slowly, they're taking it as seriously as the 12 year old naruto OLDTACOS they claim to hate.
