Want the advice of someone who used to RP with her? Avoid this two-faced cunt like the plague. I sadly can't give anymore deets than this. I can however, comment on her RPing.

She doesn't know how to play Terra at all. Even early game Terra. Oh wait... that's because Dissidia!Terra (the shitty au that she plays) is terribly OOC from the original. The way she plays Terra just reeks of Marysue. Terra isn't this wishy washy little waif who clings to a person when she's scared. She says that she's scared and you know what? She still confronts her fears and comes out stronger because of it. There's just no thought behind the character.

To think that I was considering giving her a castmate at one point in time. Glad I reconsidered that notion because I probably would've ended up hating FFVI as much as I hate FFIV.

Her Yuffie isn't much better to be honest...

i had a feeling when someone mentioned she played terra it'd be a case like this. i don't hate dissidia!terra that much (if you think of her as being pre-VI in that, it at least makes some sense), but anyone who shapes their whole interpretation around that, and isn't that great at being IC to begin with, is bound to be a trainwreck.

Not at all. I know two people who only play IV in PSLs and about three who have thought about it but won't because of her and that Kain. I also know a handful of people who don't like IV at all anymore because of them. A lot of people who weren't even in Luceti shit talk them or will discuss them when they talk about their characters or reasons they don't talk about IV or why they don't meme with them and are pretty open about it. I've been PMed out of the blue on an account I have less than ten comments on asking if I was in Luceti and when I said no gotten 'Oh thank god' as a reply.

You're less obvious than you think and I'm only obvious if you know a ln IV account no longer in use or you're the one that messaged it.

Spoilers for FFIV below, if anyone is concerned about an RPG that old.

I used to play in that IV cast and am probably outing myself for saying so (and hi, obvious anon above! I think I know who you are, but only because we've recently discussed this). The problem isn't actually the idea that Rydia and Kain would get together with enough proximity and CR. There's a case to argue that Rydia is forgiving enough to move past the "oops you killed my Mom" thing, given how Cecil coaxes her out of her anger early on. The issue is that neither of them goes into shipping Rydia and Kain with any of that nuance in mind. They're very interested in having the two prettiest characters shack up and be pretty together. The Rydia is very anti-conflict, and the Kain only ever wants to play "and then something bad happened to Kain." The Rydia ship-pushes, and doesn't handle crit well. It can be hard to plot with both of them, because they're both trapped in some kind of RP Groundhog Day where every thread has to walk in the same circle. I found the Rydia player to be a little emotionally exhausting on an OOC level, but nothing particularly remarkable or unique among the "cries over everything" crowd.

As it went down in Luceti, Rydia in Kain had a fairly lowkey relationship for a couple of months. And then they started threading out a sex scene in the middle of a public log. There were some RPSecrets about it (talk about stale, crusty deets), and people who hadn't been paying attention were suddenly paying all kinds of attention. There was some confusion among people about what they remembered about Rydia's canon. Some were calling it "pedophilia" because Rydia "should mentally be a child," even though the game's "time moves differently" leaves room to say she probably lived those years. While people were fighting about all the reasons Rydia shouldn't have given Kain the time of day, (personally, I think "you killed my mom" really ought to shut down any exchanges between penis and vagina) I think some rubberneckers got the vibe that there was something dark or insidious happening.

Those are the Luceti-side deets that I remember, with a disclaimer that it's been a long time since then (It had to have been 2010 or earlier) and I might be missing/misremembering some stuff. I stopped playing with them after some OOC stuff happened that made it clear to me that they weren't interested in playing with me as a person -- they just wanted a body to round out their cast. I know that when they went to Time and Tides, there was a bigger explosion, but I don't remember the wank surrounding that at all. If "obvious" anon is who I think it is, she was closer to that side of the wank and will hopefully kick back with some other story of wank long past.

look dude if you wanna play from IV then you totally should because the aforementioned wank is ancient history. if the players were horrible, then seven years is a long time for them to either improve or move on. and even if they didn't, every fandom has a couple of bad apples.
