this comes after player a plurked about apping him a lot and clara was always coming into the player's general shadowhunters plurks to give her authority opinion on everything. so she didn't somehow have no clue that player a was apping. blue was the character she had in the game at the time.
i didn't include the whole plurk (player a talking with others about tagging people with magnus to get some samples for the app and miscellaneous rp goals) in the pastebin because clara wasn't butting into that. her entire contribution to the plurk was this bit.
warlock is close friends with someone very friendly and unwanky i know who seems to have very good judgment so i feel like she might not be that bad so...
her plurk comments didn't seem that bad to me? kind of awkward, yeah, but rpers cry about multiples on tdms and non-game memes all the damn time, i kind of don't blame her for wanting to ask first and make sure that the other player knows that she won't be competition for tdm threads.
she seems friendly enough in our mutual friend's plurks (and our mutual friend posts about shadowhunters sometimes) but i haven't personally met her or seen her in any other plurks. she took the "what you did is kinda douchey" comment pretty well imo too.
clara is the kind of person that presents herself as the sweet unassuming type who will keymash as long as the conversation is about her/her character and how good she is (which she's really not).
when she feels threatened she suddenly gets a bit pa then "disappears" from plurk for some mystery reason. when in reality she's scuttling to pp's to bitch about people.
she's so entrenched in shadowhunters and her sweet bisexual baby prince that you're likely safe, anon. she never really talks about anything else. she drums up a small amount of interest in canons that have actual canon gays, but goes right back to her aforementioned precious.
if that's legitimately how she meant it, checking to make sure there wasn't any misunderstanding because of how people can be about tdms, then yeah, it isn't that bad.
what seemed weird to me was why she'd want to tag with a character not in the game when she had one in it already and the thread could be used as in game canon if the friend apped and the way she phrased the whole thing.
if you want to check in that you're not causing offense you can just say "hey, my friend asked me to help test drive with magnus and i wanted to check if it was ok with you" or something equally straightforward. not this weird "no reason for asking tee hee yes there is" approach. i've seen clara in other mutuals' plurks before and after this and she isn't that socially awkward or unaware. coupled with shit talking a potential castmate in pps and going out of her way to avoid tagging them, it makes her look a little like a highlandery baby.
not everybody cares about tdm stuff being game canon, anon. i have friends in a game with that kind of rule but if a castmate/friend/character they really like isn't on the tdm, they'll just throw any random character they're not invested in on the tdm just for fun.
oh yeah, i'll admit now that i've noticed, that "no reason... oh wait there is one teehee" thing is dumb and annoying. i've dealt with it so often over the years (most of it from people irl :( ) that my brain just skipped right over it. my bad.
