it's pretty much the game everyone is being drawn to because all their friends are in it + the promise of a large cast (game of thrones being the obvious example)

i do think it seems extreme to open the comment page at 12 then delete anyone who posts before 12.01. people have different computer comments, just allow reserves from when comments are opened?

i think there will be wank of some kind but i don't think it will die from it. it'll keep going as long as people are interested in it and with a playerbase that large, there will usually be stuff to do.

I seriously never get a straight answer for why anons get so fucking autistic about embedded icons in tags
unless the image is fuckhuge I don't see how hard it is to avert your eyes slightly to one side to read the tag unless you have super mega ADD where anything that bucks your routine sends you into a spiral and ruins your day

this is not true, as i've been in a handful of games over the years and seen people proxy reserve for people more than once. if a game is low on spots or there's a risk of a flood of reserves, i've seen people allow for proxies. it's more rare to see a game specifically say no to proxies, ime.

I don't like embedding icons because I feel like we should be supporting dreamwidth by buying paid time. It's a small company and they've been great to us, so we should show our support to them.

my inner pedant demands i correct make due to make do, but if someone can't afford to pay for more icons, dw isn't losing out on any money by them embedding. they found a work around because they can't afford it. i've been in the position where i couldn't afford an account and i made do, but i sure as hell wanted more. if they don't have the money, they can't support dw either way. they're not stashing their money away from dw and laughing maniacally.

it's absolutely a thing, my dude. murdergames do it because there's a character cap. normal games do it because someone might reserve the character you want first.
it's not the same, but I found myself reeeeeally bugged by this meme player's default icon. they were everywhere, and I hated seeing it. so I adblocked it. boom! sudden peace of mind.

Dreamwidth tools will now embed their added icons for you if you have it. I didn't realize it was doing that until I compared my notif to the post. I was like .....huh!
