i can just tell you're that friend your entire social circle is quietly embarrassed of judging from your use of italics and thinly veiled belief that you're clever
not to make excuses for thor's assholery, but he is also very much a product of his culture. the asgardians are one of those proud warrior types of cultures and thor was raised his entire life to value war and aggression from the safety of his asgardian bubble, so it makes sense that the first time he left it he went all neocon on the jotuns in short order
he was (and still is, imo) an asshole, mind. but that doesn't exactly go against the grain of asgardian society, and loki's whole "he's too stupid to rule!" justification is especially weak given that loki completely manipulated the situation that led to thor swinging his hammerdick around in the first place
asgardian society doesn't embody thor 1 thor. odin wouldn't scold him if it did and no one would have thought he was being over the top if that were the case.
like loki is making a lot of justifications for his actions but thor being arrogant isn't entirely imagined either.
that's why i orginially said a lot of this is left up to speculation and what people took as important, and what they didn't.
and technically jon is half-dead anyway, even if the show seems to be completely ignoring grrm's "he's a fire wight" reveal
i predict they'll both live and have babies and westeros will live happily ever after, tho, because at this point the writers have clearly given up on writing and are just blatantly pandering to what the audience wants to see happen
because i feel for elia hard but i also feel like anyone rping her would just end up like those legions of awful lyannas you always see come out around the time a new season is airing
there's only so much you can extrapolate from a character who never actually appears in the narrative, you know?
i said he's a shit, the guy is not good or heroic at all and has no business teaching children, but i really doubt you're going to get a canon confirmation that he's actually evil when he very likely wasn't intended to be
its like a fish swimming sideways and you can't tell if it's actually swimming or if the water filter's just propelling the body around before it bobs up to the surface
but as long as salty denialists are around to stir up i guess it doesn't really matter
idgaf, this stupid debate is bound to start happening in sincerity yet again the moment somebody starts making witty remarks about ""the death of dwrp"" and it's going to be stale garbage and we're all fucking tired of it
every other tired wank trope has been done in this post, im not putting it past you fuckers to bring this skeletal horse back too
admittedly i only saw the thor movies once and i'm much more familiar with the comics, but thor isn't an idiot, he just comes off that way sometimes because of his values system.
