not to make excuses for thor's assholery, but he is also very much a product of his culture. the asgardians are one of those proud warrior types of cultures and thor was raised his entire life to value war and aggression from the safety of his asgardian bubble, so it makes sense that the first time he left it he went all neocon on the jotuns in short order

i don't think it's a "magic cock" situation, since they're heavily hinting in the dialogue that she might not have been infirtile in the first place.
