ichigo, aizen, renji, and ishida followed.
aizen pretended to be ichigo while real ichigo waited in the wings and aizenchigo and renji distracted ywach until ishida had a clear shot with like... some quicksilver shit??? made from dead quincies??? that could temporarily turn off all his god powers
and then ichigo gave him a smack with his combo!bankai sword, which broke into the originally shaped zangetsu for some reason and i think that's what happened idk

i'm forver salty about that entire last arc and i'm sorry i can't give you any more concrete answers than that anon :(
