2017 has been amazing for utterly destroying the headcanons and predictions of people who annoyed me.

I'm not even in Voltron, or Game of Thrones, but watching people lose their shit over s3 Voltron, the age reveals and (spoilers) Jon/Dany has been incredible.

i dated a guy who was huge into game of thrones and when i brought up even the discussion of the possibility that jon was a targaryen and that jon/dany might be a thing he insinuated that the only reason i would ever even think that was a possibility was that i was a moron without the attention span to read the books

above anon has it wrong imo. schadenfreude is the feeling when someone who flaked on you whines about how nobody wants to play with them anymore, or watching asshole who tried to run you off the road plow right into a tree instead. the delicious feeling when someone who's wronged you is eating shit for it

schadenfreude translates to "suffering happiness", loosely. it basically just means that you take joy in the suffering of others.

watching Neko throw down multiple posts on TLH and dropping characters on memes everywhere and getting ignored by everyone but the thirstiest dudes that she won't play with.

Hypable made some stupid online poll called Battleships where ships from popular fandoms go head to head. Yuri on Ice and Voltron were involved with Victuuri and Klance, respectively. You can pretty much guess it'll be shit.

Both fandoms were using bots and creating multiple accounts to bump up the votes. The staff at Hypable found out there was cheating, so they restarted the poll.

Some Spanish Klance fans at Facebook started a plot to "get back" at the Victuuri fans by sabotage (read: make it look like they (the victuuris) were the ones doing the cheating the second time around). More cheating ensued anyway, proving that shipping is srs bizness.

Both pairings got disqualified and that f/f Supergirl ship won instead. Cue massive salt storm from both Victuuri and Klance stans.
