i didn't know she associated with and embraced the neo-nazi movement

this is pretty disturbing, anon

i'd be very surprised if taylor swift even knew they were a thing, much less acknowledged their existence.

neither the daily stormer nor the sad little manlet who ran it were ever even half as influential as they pretended they were. they also had a habit of "endorsing" people they wanted to fuck with, iirc, so i wouldn't read too deeply into it.

it's not that she associates with them, but she does have this weird refusal to denounce neo-nazism in any capacity whatsoever and it's a growing criticism against her so there's no way she doesn't know about it

she'll take the time to address the rumor of her traveling in a suitcase and uses sociopolitical movements like feminism to promote herself when it benefits her, but there was absolute radio silence on her end during charlottesville

But what does Justin Bieber think about neo-Nazis?

Re: TAYLOR SWIFT

(Anonymous) 2017-09-12 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
the thing is justin bieber never used feminism to further his career (and we already know he's a racist anyway)

if you're going to build your brand of off something like feminism then don't be surprised that you're expected to speak up about relevant sociopolitical issues

maybe i'm out of the loop, but since when has taylor swift been some militant uberfeminist?

admittedly i'm not someone who's followed her career at all, but afaik she's just this decade's generic britney spears retread and isn't any more affiliated with feminism than any other woman who works for a living

iirc she once tweeted that quote about there being a special place in hell for women who don't support women, but aside from that i always thought it was notable that she didn't ever comment on sociopolitical issues

in a cynical capitalist way, i mean, since it makes her seem like she has no personality and no opinions other than "I'm not getting paid enough," which pretty much supports the view that she'll tepidly jump on whatever trend she has to to peddle her music

lmao yeah you are completely out of the loop. her 1989 album's promo pretty much revolved around her and her self-serving feminism. she couldn't keep the word out of her mouth in interviews and even tried to bash nicki for "pitting women against each other".

she's not a britney in the least; britney never remarked on anything sociopolitical (and actually had talent at her peak, so)

okay, so feminism isn't quite her thing, but clearly she's reached the point in her career where she's ready for a certain other fem-suffix

her "feminist mentor" is lena dunham. that explains everything.

why hasn't lena dunham just faded into obscurity yet and why did anyone watch her terrible show

(does? i don't know if it's still going)

the show ended a few months ago, anon. thank god

oh good, hopefully she'll never make anything else and people will stop talking about her like she's pushing boundaries or something by being annoying and having terrible taste

Re: TAYLOR SWIFT

she's not and never has been, what little she has said on the subject has always been token lip service to peddle her music

idiot third wavers and the msm has tried to paint her as the second coming of susan b anthony after the grope lawsuit, though

Re: TAYLOR SWIFT

literally everything i've read about it has been mostly "i don't really like her, but i respect her for this"

to be fair, they'd probably say the same about the similarly white-privileged and similarly cis-privileged susan b. anthony
