i'd be very surprised if taylor swift even knew they were a thing, much less acknowledged their existence.
neither the daily stormer nor the sad little manlet who ran it were ever even half as influential as they pretended they were. they also had a habit of "endorsing" people they wanted to fuck with, iirc, so i wouldn't read too deeply into it.
it's not that she associates with them, but she does have this weird refusal to denounce neo-nazism in any capacity whatsoever and it's a growing criticism against her so there's no way she doesn't know about it
she'll take the time to address the rumor of her traveling in a suitcase and uses sociopolitical movements like feminism to promote herself when it benefits her, but there was absolute radio silence on her end during charlottesville
the thing is justin bieber never used feminism to further his career (and we already know he's a racist anyway)
if you're going to build your brand of off something like feminism then don't be surprised that you're expected to speak up about relevant sociopolitical issues
maybe i'm out of the loop, but since when has taylor swift been some militant uberfeminist?
admittedly i'm not someone who's followed her career at all, but afaik she's just this decade's generic britney spears retread and isn't any more affiliated with feminism than any other woman who works for a living
iirc she once tweeted that quote about there being a special place in hell for women who don't support women, but aside from that i always thought it was notable that she didn't ever comment on sociopolitical issues
in a cynical capitalist way, i mean, since it makes her seem like she has no personality and no opinions other than "I'm not getting paid enough," which pretty much supports the view that she'll tepidly jump on whatever trend she has to to peddle her music
lmao yeah you are completely out of the loop. her 1989 album's promo pretty much revolved around her and her self-serving feminism. she couldn't keep the word out of her mouth in interviews and even tried to bash nicki for "pitting women against each other".
she's not a britney in the least; britney never remarked on anything sociopolitical (and actually had talent at her peak, so)
fwiw taylor swift did apologize for her callout: http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/pop-shop/6641794/taylor-swift-nicki-minaj-twitter-argument-timeline
oh good, hopefully she'll never make anything else and people will stop talking about her like she's pushing boundaries or something by being annoying and having terrible taste
Re: TAYLOR SWIFT
this is pretty disturbing, anon
