yeah well that that's sort of what happens when the whole scope of your exposure to people happens on tumblr
various cities have things like sex worker arts/film festivals as well as activist networks where sex workers talk about issues that are important to them. most of the latter include some kind of web presence
people in this community need to stop expecting fandom to give them all their exposure and broaden their damn horizons
