This is trolling. The concept of someone not liking any modern violence, esp since they had family involved in a modern war is not that difficult to grasp. Some anons were just hoping to poke an American into being America fuck yeah but they failed here and the person was actually reasonable and just talking about general war experiences. So they're just still poking hoping to get another one to take the bait.
it honestly didn't read like anyone in that frozen section is a mod or player. it just reads completely like shit stirring bait for the sake of making fun of people and a bunch of people falling for it, yourself included.
in my bigger fandom, people keep trying to use the creator in their flimsy arguments to shit on the crew who worked on the show, saying "he would never do that/it's going against his vision", which is disgusting since said creator has been dead for a couple of years already.
another one is kind of alright, though there's some occasional drama that crops up every once in a while, depending on how huge it gets.
I do go here. I don't think the anon is even in the game.
If they were, they'd know it's not "cute rp funtimes" for most characters, although this month has been lighter in tone because it's the first time the characters aren't in a war zone or a volatile political situation. Most of the players know exactly what kind of game they're in. Even players who have a lighter approach are making a point of watching documentaries and reading up.
That said, the nature of this game's premise makes this wank seem inevitable.
Then why did some of the anons carry on about the anon not being offended by playing out the Terrors when the Terrors weren't even mentioned in the linked post? That was an older plot that you'd have to click around to find. Sure, random anons could do that, but it's a lot more likely there were at least a couple of butthurt players from the game going hdu thinking the anon was the complaining anon who just misread that they weren't at the game.
Once you have people going "well you were fine with X past game thing you bastard so why not this?" it's pretty obvious at least some of them are whiteknights from the game itself. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The rest were random American-hating anons trolling.
Because this hobby is full of people that will fucking try and sink their claws into your muse for their muse's personal fuckbuddy until you can't even play the damn character anymore without constant plurks and ims and shit about OMG WHY THE FUCK IS A TALKING TO THAT WHORE. That's why it's annoying and a pain in the ass.
Player anon here, not a participant in the frozen section.
You could easily find out what the past and present missions were from a link in the conversation the mods had with the offended anon. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Doesn't mean anyone was or wasn't a player or mod whiteknighting, just that the information you're talking about was linked in the linked thread if you look for it.
I didn't say it was proof they had to absolutely be players just that getting all outraged over some game specifics gave the impression it wasn't entirely just outside anons.
Even if it wasn't agoge players sucks to be you I guess.
The French Revolution was brought up in the linked thread by the mods as an example of a historical event that involved a lot of death, so it's probably just an example on people's minds. I had no clue they were actually referring to an actual event in the game.
I'm American and I had a Great Grandpa in the war. He died of emphysema caused by surviving mustard gas before I was ever born. So I never met the man. I have his journals from his time in service. I also have photographs (and the camera they were taken on). I was given them as a gift from my grandfather. I find it very very interesting to read about all the things that he did/saw (before, during and right after). It's a way for me to know a man I never met.
That said, I find WWI to be utterly fascinating and if I was in the game, I would really enjoy learning/knowing about a whole other theater of combat that American History Books never bother to teach us. I wish I had more time to be able to play there, but I know my time constraints and I know I wouldn't be active enough to justify playing.
So I applaud the mods for sticking to their premise and pointing out that they would have worked with the complainer in question if they actually gave concrete examples of what was wrong other than "people suffered/civilians died and I don't like it".
Agoge anon here again! Most of the players in this game are like you. Some of them are history nerds, but a lot of the ones who aren't are still trying to educate themselves about the settings by watching documentaries and reading books and articles.
The playerbase is curious and willing to learn, and I don't think the mods would have a lot of patience for anyone who was disrespectful of the subject matter. If you ever do get the chance to app, it would be great to see you there.
I'm curious if the characters are going to be a neutral party or be sided with one country or another. I know that the game enemy is technically a fictional organization trying to fuck up time, but characters still have to blend in. I can see how it might be uncomfortable if characters are going to be automatically sided with the americans or british.
Anyway, to play it safe, I think it'd be wise for there to be focus on the "regency" - kind of like how in asscreed the enemies are the templars.
pax is an incredibly toxic player. she freaks out about literally everything in games - shipping, game mechanics, you name it.
she also blocks people on plurk willy-nilly for the most inane reasons. play a character she plays? you're blocked. ship yours with the character in-game that she wants to ship with? you're blocked. breathe in her direction? you're blocked.
when not one but two characters played by people who Never Fucking Tag You Back have become central to the plot and it's hampering your ability to get any plot involvement
Tell her you don't want to ship with her? Also blocked. Disagree with her or misunderstand what she's trying to say? Blocked. I want to see how long her blocked list is. It must be half of dwrp. I think she ragequits every game she's been in, and she never uses the drop form. She just leaves the comms. She's incredibly unpleasant and I'm amazed she hasn't been namedropped more.
listen, anon. tell them to back off and block them if they have a meltdown. you don't have to deal with that shit and i don't have to know you to tell you, you ABSOLUTELY DO NOT have to put up with shitty behavior. no, you don't appease them. you don't just hope they take the hint. you say no and if they don't? report their bitch ass to the mods of your game.
i can't stand this mentality. you don't have to play with annoying people and you do not have to put up with their shitty behavior. don't let their meltdowns fool you into thinking you have to just because it's supposedly easier to ignore it. it isn't easier because they're still harassing you for your attention. case in point, you're so annoyed you and OP posted to this thread.
i don't care if they're a dime a dozen as another anon said, or if they're few and far between. punt them six ways to sunday and be done with their ass.
you deserve to have fun like the rest of us. and no i am not the type of person to do this sort of thing. i just think you should be able to say fuck off and mean it. you aren't responsible for their feelings and you never will be.
