vader died, bro, that's why. he died killing the emperor. it was self-sacrificing and heroic, which is why it made for a better movie than vader living.
also? i personally don't consider him absolved of all that much and i'm sure many people in-universe didn't, either. if i were leia, i wouldn't care that he was my bio dad if he watched the destruction of my entire fucking planet (and, you know, her actual dad who raised her).
all this fuss over kylo ren and redemption and no one is asking why we don't get phasma redemption or hux redemption. or snoke redemption, how did snoke get to be snoke? waht if they all have similar or worse backstories to kylo, are they now candidates for redemption?
or maybe none of them should be candidates for redemption. tbh i never thought of vader as fully redeemed so much as "well you died not being a total shit", because how do you redeem for years of murder and torture and destruction? i know i wouldn't consider any of that redeemable. at some point, you have hurt/killed too many people.
+1 on how reylo was handled. i personally interpreted it as "there was potential for something until kylo decided to stay on his evil overlord bullshit".
(lol at "well-muscled" anything, she basically has swimmer's body with some tits)
nah. unlike mercy, swimmers actually have some muscle, they're just leaner than, say, a body builder. take a look at an olympic swimmer's shoulders and back and you'll see what i mean.
as far as i can tell, this was because a friend gave my character some nicknames ooc and one included the word shota in the sense of him being a young boy
uh, maybe i'm missing something here, but have we even seen enough of Mercy's bare skin in canon art to determine what kind of visible musculature she has? like even her most revealing skins don't tell us much.
people get way way way too invested in whether this character is beauty personified or ugly as sin. chill out.
anon, "shota" isn't a word used for young boys. it's pretty much only exclusively used in reference to shotacon, though it can also be a name, but it's still not a word for young boys. you dug your own grave there.
if this is the player i think it is, y'all have way way more ammo to use against them besides "thinks mercy is attractive" which you all get way too hung up on.
this is the most petty ass shit i've seen on wg in ages
what does someone's appearance have to do with their ability to rp in the slightest and honestly makes you look more like the one with the grudge than her
... um. i don't know what to tell you anon, but i think you're wrong. i'm not into anime anything and i don't know much about the terminology, but from my stint of reading wg for the last few years, i've heard shota used frequently to mean 'young/teen/preteen boy'.
idk, a kylo fan? i don't have anything against the character or his fanbase, i'm just explaining where i think the backlash against him is coming from. this has been building up ever since loki fandom came onto the scene (and arguably earlier with the snapewives) and kylo just happened to come onto the fandom scene when this was about to boil over. if it wasn't him it would be another dark villain character.
i think it can be used for both. i've seen the term used a lot as slang among japanese fan artists (including "loli") to refer to young boys/girls but none of their artwork shows shota/lolicon happening
maybe by stupid people, but the rest of us see "shota" and think "shotacon". now, reasonably, the first assumption should be "maybe this is just someone being stupid" and not "maybe this someone wants to fictional children in sexual situations", sure, but you're still being dumb if you think that word is 100% innocent and divorced from its origins.
ehhhh. the term came from shotacon, but for a while the term was used in this corner of fandom for young boy characters in general (the same with loli for young female characters). after a few years passed more and more people thought that that was pretty messed up, and when enough people found it distasteful it fell out of fashion.
