i assume they mean the common problem of raising problems on wankgate and never contacting the mods, not the separate issue you’re talking about of players quite publicly bringing their issues to the mods and having the game shut down. as a mod of a medium large game i can attest that whenever there is a thread here for my game there’s always one or two people saying they went to the mods about x issue or person or that they plan to go to the mods. there is also a dead silent mod contact post and dw inbox to go with these claims. maybe once in all my years of modding has someone actually gone to the mods as they said.
it may be that people just don’t want to “out” themselves as wankgate goers but it’s amazingly frustrating especially given anon comm goers take it as fact sometimes that people did in fact go to the moderators when they never did. then things blow up and you get linked wankgate after the fact and you want to scream a little because 99% of the time it’s something you could and would have fixed.
