The agoge mods or some of their players started whiteknighting in response to someone that was actually defending them and criticizing the anon that was rude to them. Is what happened.

Yeah, I was thinking of apping there but not now. A few posts are pretty transparently agoge anons that can't read, especially with a few of the posts hyperfocusing on how that part of the war was personal!11! for a specific mod.

I'm sure some of these are just random anons stirring shit but a few of the comments reek of defensive mods or whiteknighting players, so gj agoge. Attacking an anon that's actually defending your mods and your tastes sure makes your game look welcoming.

I (and probably most anons in this thread lbr) aren't in the game I just wanted to make fun of an American.

Also people are probably bringing up the mod being Australian because it was in the linked thread. It's a legitimate point there. If Anon can have their tastes and biases determined by connections tangentially related to them at best, why can't a mod (who is much less tangentially related) do the same?

That would be a good point if the anon in the thread here on wankgate was the complaining anon on the mod post, or even part of the game, as opposed to someone who specifically said they didn't join it.

Not only did they say they didn't join, they specifically said the mods and players that did want to play it should be left alone to enjoy it.

The thread is just wankgate being wankgate definitely, but I just wanted to point out that you don't need to be on the mod's the plurklist or whatever to know that information because it's right there in the deets presumably everyone read.

one of the anons in this thread. i'm not actually in the game. i just think americans are tone deaf as fuck particularly when it comes to the first two world wars esp since they came in late.

Then why did some of the anons carry on about the anon not being offended by playing out the Terrors when the Terrors weren't even mentioned in the linked post? That was an older plot that you'd have to click around to find. Sure, random anons could do that, but it's a lot more likely there were at least a couple of butthurt players from the game going hdu thinking the anon was the complaining anon who just misread that they weren't at the game.

I didn't say it was proof they had to absolutely be players just that getting all outraged over some game specifics gave the impression it wasn't entirely just outside anons.

The French Revolution was brought up in the linked thread by the mods as an example of a historical event that involved a lot of death, so it's probably just an example on people's minds. I had no clue they were actually referring to an actual event in the game.

ftr i'm the anon upthread that replied about the mods not being able to fix things if people don't clarify or give examples. OP's link and comment are the first i've heard of this game, and i only looked because i've modded a lot in the past before and wanted to know what would make OP say "these poor mods."

from the future missions link, i looked through the older log posts to see if there was anything different between the tone of the new info post and their older stuff. there are links on that future missions post that go to the tags for each mission. it's when none of it came across as the mods being particularly flippant about ww1 compared to the rest that i returned and replied on here. in the process of checking, i ended up reading about their french revolution plot which included mention of the beheadings aka the terrors.

not that i don't get it looking suspicious being mentioned directly, but i read all that from about 20 minutes of killing time at work and none of it is really hard to find. considering how much time people waste on wg, i personally wouldn't put it past other people having done the same too. not to mention i read all that, replied, left, and came back way later only to go wtf like OP, so it's not like people didn't have time to do it either.
