so mods aren't allowed to provide conflict and baddies anymore?

i WAS in ed and reynard was just that. he was used as a source of conflict beyond the court vs. court stuff who players finally succeeded in killing after ICly figuring out a way to do it. snow burning out and stepping down had nothing to do with him dying, it was the direct result of a player complaining that not everyone was getting the same level of attention and snow acknowledging that the game was too big for them to handle with the level of focus she'd been giving it.

Sure they are. But after experiencing what she was like with that kind of character as a player in ax, I was totally unsurprised that the biggest plot she ran in ed revolved around another super powerful, evil-for-the-sake-of-evil, so incredibly smart that it took almost an OOC year to find a way to successfully kill him (which only happened after a bunch of instances of him suddenly one-upping player characters and knowing what they were doing all along). And even then his daughter? and some cultists? were likely to resurrect him.

I'm not claiming him being dead is the sole reason she stepped down. I also know that she stepped down after she got a new job which demanded a different level of attention and time from her, meaning she didn't have as much to dedicate to the game, so you don't have to try and out-fact me. But the plot had started to spiral loose before that, and by spiral loose I mean I saw a lot of dissatisfaction and confusion about where things were going, and elements like player tailored content becoming more evident as unequal.

IMO Snow's only happy when she's playing OP godmoding infomoding chessmaster pure evil villains, so I see a correlation there. It's also part of why I would never go near a game she's modding, because NPCs are meant to be there to facilitate player characters, not be the stars of the show.
