What are klantis

Re: SHE-RA

(Anonymous) 2018-11-17 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
rabid klance (keith/lance from voltron) fans who constantly harass other people and the voltron staff over whatever stupid reason they can come up with.

it looks like some people working on she-ra are klantis and they've been showing their asses on twitter.

I thought that was what it was! I just was wondering why it was here. Don't they vet people who work on these shows at all? I thought how they acted on social media was part of the job?

that storyboarder comes off as a total child. why would you discuss your work so unprofessionally in a public venue?

Re: SHE-RA

(Anonymous) 2018-11-17 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
storyboard revisionist.

she works with the storyboarders, basically a visual editor for them, but she isn't a storyboarder herself for this show.

probably pedantic to point this out, and it doesn't justify her behavior, but it's also a small enough position i can see why her twitter behavior might have slipped under the radar of anyone on the show that actually matters.

Re: SHE-RA

(Anonymous) 2018-11-17 05:47 am (UTC)(link)
think she can get let go of if someone brings it to the attention of higher-ups, or is it such a nobody position that they'd probably just keep her on?

Re: SHE-RA

(Anonymous) 2018-11-17 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
i don't know she-ra's production schedule, but it's pretty telling that her twitter bio no longer mentions that she's part of the she-ra staff. odds are she was only contracted to work on the first season, and isn't returning in subsequent seasons.

which likely has zero to do with her twitter behavior, as that's just kind of how the animation industry goes for jobs like that. but it can still effect her ability to get future work. tumblr is such a hub for animators these days, it won't take long for this to get spread around.

I guess that's possible but it feels like social media plays too big a part in put lives now for them not to be aware of it. My friend has none of his work colleagues on his fb and he still got reprimanded somehow for a nondefault photo of him drinking a beer (he's a teacher if that matters). If people can find that from him it's hard to believe something public like that when we've seen it wouldn't be seen by their superiors.

a teacher is someone that is bound to have more tabs being kept on them than a storyboard revisionist, anon.

Re: SHE-RA

(Anonymous) 2018-11-17 06:41 am (UTC)(link)
actually it's bad and insane to try to get people fired over their spicy ship opinions, hth

Re: SHE-RA

(Anonymous) 2018-11-17 06:43 am (UTC)(link)
but logical and sane to want to see them get canned for unprofessionalism!

seriously tho i can't wait for voltron to end so these idiots go away

Re: SHE-RA

(Anonymous) 2018-11-17 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
they won't just go away forever.

they'll fuck off to other fandoms to continue their bullshit until they either grow the fuck up or die.

Re: SHE-RA

(Anonymous) 2018-11-20 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
at least they'll shut up about their bland keith ships, which would already be a huge improvement

Re: SHE-RA

(Anonymous) 2018-11-17 06:06 pm (UTC)(link)
voltron isn't the issue, tumblr is the issue. voltron was just the latest shiny. before that we had supernatural and steven universe, and after voltron it comes she-ra, and after she-ra another canon will get the idiots

Re: SHE-RA

(Anonymous) 2018-11-20 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
voltron's fandom would still suck without tumblr, especially since a lot of the shittier stunts the fandom has pulled occurred on twitter, a different site entirely

Re: SHE-RA

(Anonymous) 2018-11-20 01:09 pm (UTC)(link)
on twitter by the tumblr crowd. when we talk about "tumblr fandom" we don't literally mean the site, anon. she-ra has also had a lot of the stuff going on twitter, it's definitely the people and not the shows

Re: SHE-RA

(Anonymous) 2018-11-17 07:01 am (UTC)(link)
if you saw the screencaps, anon, this goes a bit beyond shitty ship opinions.

she's actively supporting disparagement and passively condoning the harassment of her peers working on a different show because of shitty ship opinions. it's deeply unprofessional.

Re: SHE-RA

da

this is what happens when you see internet tough guys who learned all their social issues from tumblr writing stories. they see teenagers on tumblr trying so hard to be flippant and sassy and they act the same way on social media. this is why i hate how much interaction creators have with fans now, because creators acting like this just encourages the worst of fandom, and creators in turn imitate the worst behavior of their fans because they see people getting positive attention for their ~clapbacks~.

Re: SHE-RA

(Anonymous) 2018-11-17 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
It's not about ship opinions it's about how they conduct themselves publicly as someone who worked on the show/s.

Re: SHE-RA

(Anonymous) 2018-11-17 07:43 am (UTC)(link)
it's not her ship opinions, it's the way she conducts herself on social media, which people can and do deservedly get fired for. i would not want somebody like that associated with my production in a venue that gets more exposure than anything else.

Re: SHE-RA

(Anonymous) 2018-11-17 09:01 am (UTC)(link)
its bad and insane to post or encourage negative opinions of a show produced by your parent network hth

if you identify yourself as an employee of a company or as a contractor on a series you need to hold yourself to not engage with any of this in public view. if youre going to then do it anonymously or under a pseudonym. not just for the fact that it looks bad, but the industry is a fairly small place and word gets around fast.

it's also worth noting that it wasn't the voltron creators who fed into this voltron versus she-ra mindet, but people who worked on she-ra and used it to "positively" promote their show. they specifically courted klantis who were disingenuous about their issues with how shiro and adam were handled.

so fucking stupid, oh my god.
