finished watching and i gotta say it reminds me a lot of 90s my little pony for small girls in the art direction, the color palette, the writing. that's great since its the actual target demographic for the show

but seeing young adult and actual adult fans claim its the best thing ever and latching on to lesbian ships to do their "uwu perfect rep" takes makes me wonder if they've never actually seen good stories for our age demographic

my one big gripe is i couldn't stand entrapta. everything about her was annoying. her entire attitude at the prom and seeing it as a "social experiment" is every 00s cringy "i'm not like those popular vapid girls" attitude. i couldve done without that entire storyline

entrapta is going to be that type of character that wankers will project onto and infantilize because of "autistic coding" isn't she

I liked her, personally, but I already hate the inevitable screeing that will come if you ever say an awful word about their preshus autistic baby.

It’s a shame. I’d actually like to play her when there’s more canon to go on, but only because I want to explore how stunted and fucked up she is and not because she’s an innocent baby being manipulated. She is just so clearly not here for anything but science.

Though with this particular reboot, she probably is autistic.

most of this is taking random normal behaviors (tapping your fingers nervously lol) and slapping labels pertaining to autism onto them

i wouldn't be surprised if the creators do decide to retroactively say she's autistic, but she doesn't read like she was was intended to be at first.

i don't really care if people want to project so long as they don't try to say it's canon though

yeah entrapta is very clearly meant to be a combo genki girl/tech nerd archetype and so most of those supposed "autistic" behaviors are reflections of those tropes (the being unrelentingly loud and cheerful, the obsession with technology, the exaggerated physical movements like the chair spinning, etc.). it's not any deeper than that.
