I'm going with unhealthy coping mechanisms personally. Now that some time has passed, I'm intrigued by the whole thing, asspull or no, but I know it wouldn't be explored properly in canon, so. Maybe in the next uX update?
(Ah, that was before I joined the DW RP, having taken a break after LJ more or less died. Haha, that is funny)
True, her 'fuck hearts' attitude is a coping mechanism, and I wish more time was given to her character arc. KH has WAY too many characters in it. And that's not counting the Disney characters. It's one of the reasons I'm okay with them sidelining the FF characters. There's fanfic for the loose ends there. And really the only loose end is Cloud and Sephiroth, which I'll be honest, I was never interested in.
