honest question, do you think the mods' job is to handhold everyone through everything, ic and ooc? proactivity is good. this was helpful.

it's kinda sad that ppl squint at something as innocuous as a plotting post on the ooc com because it "makes them look like a mod liaison" lmao. maybe i'm old, but we used to do this shit all the time back in the day.

also, mods can literally still do a big writeup if they want and were planning to. it's not like they can't? threads are still going and questions are still asked so i can see them waiting a minute.

alternatively, if posting duplicate characters to a meme bothers you that much, go find some obscure canon to play from in which you're the only person on dreamwidth ever or whip up an oc.

you have to know how a comment like this translates to "please feed me all the plot, i don't want to be proactive, i just want to react to things mods write", right?

da, the mods already added an important question that went up while the post was being put together, tbh they seem fine just adding stuff to the existing post.

there's definitely a timing factor to consider, like when is too soon (or too late) to do a post like this, and that's really hard to figure, but it feels like pure wankgate brainworms to see all of this and read it as wank (if not outright headcanoning) on the part of the player OR the mods.

the player didn't do anything wrong. neither did the mods. neither of them seem bothered by what the other is doing. people are making up scenarios in their heads where this is somehow drama.

i have no horse in this race but my god anons were NOT kidding about jigokucho whiteknights

If this is how people react when a player is proactive ooc, imagine how people will act when they’re proactive ic and start getting results.

This is why no one wants to do anything in games and this is why nothing gets done in games without mods spoon feeding everyone plot like babies.

the whiteknights have been rabid since day one. it's fascinating.

i know that way back in the day luceti used to have an entire character-run information network where characters would share information with each other in a format not accessible to the captor npcs, hold meetings/town halls, etc.

tbqh too none of the comments to that comment looked defensive of the game as “mods shouldn’t have to spoonfeed plot” debate is a pretty common debate around here

hi, i'm the anon who doesn't go to this game and was asking about the situation.

to me, as someone who only looked at the link because someone linked it here, outside of every piece of context, this reads like someone saying that a plot was too vague and like they thought the game needed a summary of current events. you guys are talking about it on the level of someone running a player plot where they go spelunking in some mysterious mines. so this isn't actually someone revising an event post or something? is it a writeup where they're asking people to collab with them?

I still feel like I'm missing context. maybe it's the tone of the thing, I don't know.
