tbh i was thrilled when the pretty, extremely feminine-looking male character in my fandom turned out to be very, very straight. i'm so tired of the "looks girly = gay" trope.

Oh I love her too. I was just meaning stone butch lesbian as in a woman who's not conventionally attractive to men like Cora and Jack are. They're still very pretty to appeal to the male dude bro opinion.

But yeah even if I think it's nice that the lgbt writers at bioware can say, make a gay man's story for dorian that lets them express themselves (I could be wrong but I think his writer is a gay man) it would just be so simple if everyone was bi and you could just pick to make your MC male or female to romance them however you wanted.

tbh i go to the character's journal first for info and then i google shit

if i come up empty-handed and am still interested in giving the character a shot i'm just. going to tag. it doesn't matter when i'm canonblind anyway

it's not that scary tagging a character you don't know anything about, i promise. sometimes it's even a little thrilling. maybe even fun

ya i agree but thats kind of missing the OP's point that people shouldn't be so lazy they won't even spell out their canon names in the header it's annoying

and not everybody knows that how is someone gonna know what jjk or hk or whatever means even the game of thrones people usually put Game of Thrones/ASOIAF to clarify please just spell out your canon names you're not tagging it for a tumblr post you're trying to get people to know what character you're playing

search the character name plus the acronym.

i'm not sure what's to complain about here. i can understand not liking people using cheeky joke names for their canons, but acronym's are such a nothing thing to get twisted over.

those are some of the la ones i know and i know there's a lot of anime titles that are just as long if not longer that get shortened down to hhgk or mdmz.

It’s still kind of gross to call them ‘queer-coded’ because of that, though. It sounds just a little too close to the idea that not following dated gender rolls must mean they’re lesbians.

a lot of them end up undermining their cause when they say the quiet part out loud and reveal that, to them, 'queer-coded' actually means 'bigoted stereotypes like butch women and effeminate men.'

it's not as progressive as they think at all. it's very much the opposite of progressive.

because women with non-gender conforming hairstyles absolutely cannot be straight, ever

they're also severely underrepresented in the media. i'm someone who seeks out f/f stories, and while there is plenty of media out there with f/f couples and lesbian characters nowadays (from comics to TV shows to kids' cartoons), you still don't see many butch lesbians (or butch women, period).

arcane is more GAY than LESBIANS. from what ive seen, people play the two guys and make them gay with each other. i hardly ever see the two girls in memes.
