seriously lmao. jojo's is the one I think of first too but I've even seen it with really fucking problematic shit like devilman. I just don't know why they watch/read the canons to begin with when every single thing about it is apparently a trigger to them

(the secret is that they like the problematic stuff, they just don't like other people enjoying things either without them or being better (at fanart or writing) than they are aka getting more attention than they do.)

I've had that happen and the player was really weird about it. I get wanting to state up front that the character would only be in m/m ships but even after I was clear about not wanting a ship and instead wanting an entirely platonic and fairly business-like CR (ie. my character was going to be hiring the dude) the player kept repeating that the dude was "gaaaaaaay" and always wrote it like that.

ive been blessed with great cr with my girls but ive experienced this too, even when i try extra hard to make sure what im proposing cant be read as fishing for ships

honestly, i haven't. i just wasn't sure if it was something that happened. what's weirding me out is mostly that only some of the characters get tagged and it seems to be the ones that already have plenty of tags?

exactly. its nice to see mods rp along side their playerbase than just making a game then fucking off to do whatever and never hearing from them again besides AC time.

i never said anything i was complaining, just confused because i haven't seen it before. i'm still not complaining but i do have some concerns:
- it's only a single mod and that's a lot of tagging out to keep up with
- how is mod deciding who to tag and who not to tag?
- why are some of the least responded to characters not getting tags from the mod too?
- wouldn't it be better for the npc to have it's own account instead of just straight up using the general mod account?

i'm not trying to be petty, i just honestly haven't seen this before. i was one of the ones that didn't get a tag from the mod so i feel a little weird about it. i'll ask for one if i decide i'm for sure going to join but idk.

question, are you even reading what's going on in these threads? because on the ship, there are rules. and these ic rules are set by the npc has such as: no smoking on the deck, no minors at the bar, etc.

there are some characters that are smoking on the deck or at the bar, thus the npc shows up to scold them. and also there is a plurk where players are letting the mod know that their character is breaking a rule by linking them the thread so the npc can jump in.

they're probably being tagged because they stumbled into something in any of their prompts that attracted the attention of whichever mod is playing the NPCs.

either way, there's nothing weird about this.

you should have asked literally anyone else first before running to wankgate, anon.

you just come off as, at best, an idiot, and at worst, someone who is deliberately trying to drag mods through the wankgate mud for doing completely normal mod shit.

yeah i only get pissed at the people who have been in a precarious financial position all along but decide to get a pet anyway and then just hope it never needs any kind of vet care at all. that's not how it works, it's not like you can predict that your pet is going to get sick or eat something they shouldn't or injure themselves in some stupid fashion.

i honestly didn't really read any one else's threads so clearly that was a mistake on my part. i don't use plurk either so whatever stuff is happening over there goes completely over my head. the only games i've ever been in have been databurst and noctium so i was just honestly surprised to see the mods rping this way.

Let me help you. you vagueposted here about ~feeling some kind of way~ because you resent other players for getting mod attention that you did not get. you were hoping some other wanker felt the same way and would say that so you wouldn't have to. it did not go well because this is, in fact, very petty.

I do remember there being a few dwrp newbies in databurst (some who didn't even know about anon comms until it was mentioned) when I was there, so I'd give the benefit of the doubt that you probably were thinking that wankgate was rpanons which is a different anon comm for dwrp.

That said, mods tagging players isn't new here like anons said, but not all games do it. Some games have npcs that players can tag directly, and sometimes the mod does tag around to players. Some games have a place for players to request tags from an npc. It might be strange if you're from another platform originally if it's not common practice there.
