Then two say, Hades greek myth pb OCs would be from separate "canons"? How do the OCs traverse these waters? What if the original "canonmates only" Hades OC doesn't like your Persephone OC? Is she suddenly no longer his "canonmate" because she's not the Persephone OC they imagine in their "canon"? Where does it end?

"Then two say, Hades greek myth pb OCs would be from separate "canons"?"

what the fuck is this take? are two mcu iron mans from separate canons? no? then no, theyre not

"What if the original "canonmates only" Hades OC doesn't like your Persephone OC?"

so then they dont tag me back

maybe even ask me to not tag them anymore because its not fun for them

just like with canon players

what is it with you idiots treating oc players like theyre a separate subspecies of human lmfao. the canon is playing straight from myths instead of an adaptation, its really not hard to understand

One person might write their Hades completely differently than another Hades, because they have no true canon backing to follow besides some vague stories about some dudes. To me two Hades OCs would be from ""different canons"" because they can be played that much differently. If you're both playing Iron Man you have to follow what Iron Man does and keep him IC, the OC players don't have guidelines like that. So yeah, they would be separate "canons" to me.

yeah, and this also happens with canon characters

it doesnt mean youre suddenly not playing from the same canon

it just means you dont like how one person writes a character

did you guys forget that mythology is its own canon with a baked-in setting and stories and rules or something? that people arent just making hercules up in their heads just because they dont use icons from disney? that thats basically where we got the term canon in the first fucking place?

the term "canon" doesn't come from greek mythology, which had various conflicting stories all coming from different cults devoted to different gods, not to mention a ton of philosophical allegories and political satire. there is no coherent canon to greek mythology.

the term "canon" comes mostly from the christian church's efforts to create a coherent doctrine, and choosing which books count as part of the bible and which ones don't.

this just in, there's no true canon backing unless you're writing something from pop culture made in 1990 or later, everything else is some vague shit.

Re: sa

Pretty much. Hades Hades and Disney Hades are wildly different from each other and let's say, DC Hades. Iron Man is usually fairly consistent outside of some really wild outliers nobody plays from or likes.
