if you don't want to join a game with her that's fine but idk i don't think "participating in a venting plurk for a game she's not even in" is a crime worthy of driving an active mod out of dwrp for

there's no lying about identity or overstepping boundaries here, worst case is a player fills out the easiest app in dwrp an then backs out when they find out the mod is someone they dislike. even if her name isn't plastered all over the game, you can easily find out who the mod is, gsai was actively lying and trying to cover their involvement because they knew no one would join.

i know some people like to act like this megapaste is the worst thing that ever happened here but for 90% of the people involved it's a bog-standard venting plurk that should have been filtered to a smaller group, and weighing in without fact-checking luc's claims isn't great but it's nothing most mods would pre-ban for. the bad part of that megapaste was luc lying his ass off to get people to dogpile the players he was bullying, and the fact that the fucking mods of ryslig decided it was appropriate to bitch about their players by name.

i said it ISN'T plastered all over the game, but it's also not some big secret. everyone in game knows who the mod is. she uses her personal plurk and discord for mod things, this isn't something she's hiding from players.

gsai on the other hand was anon modding and deliberately lying about it to trick people who are uncomfortable with them. the average player would have no way of knowing they're a mod unless they come here or caught the anonfail themselves.

there is a difference between actively hiding your identity from your players and just not advertising it on game info pages. everyone who is in sail knows who the mod is, at most they're out the fifteen minutes it takes to fill in the sail app if they join, see her, and say 'no thanks'. these are not equivalent situations.

They're equivalent because of the same reasoning as the anons who said dropping jgk paints a target on them. If anything, it's worse, because Trek is definitely the only mod you're dealing with.

So now you're in and you join the sail discord and you're in Trekland and it doesn't look that way from the outside at all. I considered joining sail to play with friends and had no idea Trek was involved. As someone who has had issues with her, me apping without knowing and having to leave when it was revealed would be completely obvious and there is no doubt about how Trek talks about people she doesn't like both publicly and privately.

ok i agree trek has no business modding but you're joking right, people say that about gsai because they 1. grudgewank on anyone who slightly upsets them and 2. literally got banned for ignoring boundaries

we can go back and forth all day about who is more sneaky and malicious and never agree but the point is that to the people both of them harmed, finding out you're stuck in a situation where they're the mod and you didn't know that getting into the game is exactly the same and equally problematic whether or not people on the outside feel that way
