I'm sorry but I read through this waiting for the great big horrible thing that has everyone so upset about this and I don't see it?

It's exhausting and embarrassing but it seems like they're doing just fine getting themselves banned from things. I'm just wondering why this is PSA-worthy stuff especially compared to the other wankers we've seen that have been toxic and abusive in ways that got other people in trouble while they got away with it scot-free.

People should know so they can opt-out if they want to, but compared to other wankers this is pretty mild stuff ngl.

Gsai is extremely annoying which is why they got banned from rpanons but no one has ever brought home the deets of any direct harassment. No amount of vomiting up links will change that.

This seems like the most likely story. There was even another anon in here that admitted that they told them they wanted to opt out of playing with them and they calmly honored the request so I'm really having a hard time believing these anons who act like this is the worst wank on wg.

what is the appropriate action for an anon mod to take if someone they had a falling out with apps into their game?

do you reject the app outright without cause? do you out yourself as a mod, rendering the point of anon modding pointless to begin with? do you hand off all interactions to another mod and honor the request? what is the right answer here to this situation, anon? to me, it looks like a no win scenario for any anon mod with the misfortune of having this happen to them.

and no, i am not gonsai or any of gonsai's friends. just an anon who is baffled by how much drama has sprung up because people accidentally apped into a game potentially run by someone they can't stand for various personal reasons. if folks are this morally outraged or uncomfortable with this dwrper at the helm, the door's right there. no one is forcing them to stay. they can leave at any time.

as if it's some act of nature that someone with a history of alienating the general public purposefully hides their identity in order to run a public game, and not something gonsai actively chose to do, even outright rejecting the idea of a private game.

Answering your honest question with an honest answer.

100% I would pass that app to my co-mods. If I'm modding a public game, it's my responsibility to be as impartial as possible, even when that means being civil to people I told to eat a bag of dicks.

The problem people are having with that concept in this conversation is that gsai hasn't demonstrated any ability to be impartial in other exchanges and people have no faith that it would happen here.

Reject outright TBH. If one of the three people I've fallen out with seriously enough to avoid all contact with apped to my game, I'm not being paid enough to make myself uncomfortable in the name of impartiality. Modding's a shitty enough job as it is.

okay, well, answering you in good faith and assuming the mod in question is NOT gsai nor a recently notorious wanker in general:

depends on the reason. was the apper genuinely toxic or abusive? do they have a trail of other people they've hurt? if so, reject on that basis. were we just incompatible as people? let them in and i can deal with most of their basic stuff because i'm an adult, but if something happens like they report me as a player for some kind of misbehavior then that gets handled by the other mods.

if i'm the only mod (which is pretty common with anon mods, i think) i just try to be as fair as possible, i guess. at that point, it's a risk they took by apping.

again, this assumes the mod in this scenario is not the one with a recent wank history therefore none of this applies to the gsai situation.

you're right. it couldn't possibly be because someone with a bad reputation happened to have a good game idea and wanted to see it succeed. clearly, it was a nefarious and malicious action directed specifically at every person that dislikes them.

regardless of whatever this person has done in the past, it doesn't make anon reactions look any less grudgy and irrational in the present. when you app into a game with anon mods, you always run the risk that it's gonna be run by someone you hate. that's just the reality of it.
