They don't want to rp with just friends. If they can rp with strangers, that "proves" that they're not as bad as everyone says they are. Besides the obvious problems, this does not work because gonsai can never stop being gonsai.
Source: I'm a stranger and a naive idiot who tried to befriend them once. At the time I truly didn't know their reputation besides "they had a reputation." My impressions were: gonsai doesn't know how to carry a conversation that doesn't devolve into them trying to one-up you on fandom knowledge. They treated my castmates really fucking weird, they'd be nice one day and be backhanded and negging them the next day, totally different to how gonsai interacted with me, as if we wouldn't compare notes and agree they were being weird.
I gave up rping with them because not only can gonsai not write engaging tags to save their life, it became clear that they didn't care to know anything about my character and would make totally off-base assumptions about who they were (as if gonsai's character was the ~only one~ who knew my character's true personality), even though I talked about their motivations ooc and I'd write their internal thoughts in tags, so I can only assume they just can't read. Only *after* all this did I find out actual details on their past.
I'm sure if gonsai thinks of me at all they're just crying that mean old wg anons poisoned my brain with baseless gossip or whatever, and not that I ditched them based entirely on their own merits.
