not only does it cover your own ass, it gives the banned player a chance to understand exactly what behavior of theirs led to the ban so that they can work on improving themselves if they choose to do so.

let's be real though

if i had the choice between having stable diffusion whip up an icon for me in five minutes for free and having to pay thirty bucks and wait six months just for my icon to get passed the sketching phase, it's not even close

that's because in a lot of cases the banned player has a history of bad behavior so repugnant that the head moderator doesn't feel the need to hear "both sides"

banning doesn't really happen as often as some of the anons here seem to think. unless the head mod is a rank EX dipstick like trek or gsai you really have to try to eat a ban from a dwrp game

what specifically tells you these are AI, anon? i have seen some icons that are obvious but its sometimes hard to tell with such a small image size to work from, and these dont have the obvious tells ive seen in other icons

Ban the first player who misled the mods, and offer a direct apology and rescind the ban of the player who was banned originally. Also make a public announcement making it clear that giving the mods doctored or misleading caps in a complaint is liable to get a player in trouble. The player's actions were unacceptable and it would go a ways to making sure people realize the mods are trying to be just and fair.

Regardless of how it is handled, a ban for the lying player needs to happen because the player essentially used the mods as a vehicle to continue their harassment.

The ban shouldn't have been given to player B in the first place, so it's on the mods to make it right. At least apologize for not doing your best to fact check.

this depends on the evidence given. i'll always tell the other person why they're getting banned/a strike/warning/whatever. that's out of the question, because like people above said, i need to hear both sides of the issues, i need to cover my ass, and i want everyone to understand what it's allowed or not to do in my game. so if the conversation is one on one, i'll say that i can't protect their identity. however if the private conversation was among three or more people, then yeah, i won't say who shared it with me, i can just reference the conversation itself.

the quality of the commissioned pieces is entirely different from that of the ai-generated ones. ai has a big issue with making eyelashes that don't just look like blobby cthulhu tendrils, and all of the ai-generated icons obviously have this issue where a normal human wouldn't

humans can draw shit eyelashes just like they can draw shit hands or shit hair, but they will not fuck up in the same way that an ai will

a human can draw a hand that looks broken or wrong, but they won't draw a hand with two thumbs or seven fingers

somehow i think thats not the same thing as drawing eyelashes that are bad

eyelashes are commonly listed as one of the most obvious tells of ai art so idk what to tell you
