yeah, but as most wanky convos happen off dw coms, the potential edict against invite-only games doesn't hinge on that clause and wanking on invite-only games should be ok if your only deets are not breaking a dw lock.

i keep vagueing about the status of invite-only games because wg mods have been hilariously inconsistent on allowing this kind of wank or not. it seems to be entirely at random that one invite-only game's threads are frozen and another's are not. i think most recently, the ton, an invite game, got massively trashed on here and all the deets produced were summaries of locked dw posts and game-only discord chat leaks. meanwhile, threads about that same game were frozen in the past, even without egregious rule breaking or dw lock leaks taking place.

so i'm going to be honest and say imo, as a scholar of wank and based off precedent, whether or not invite-only games get wanked on here depends entirely on the mood of whatever wg mod is at the helm that day.

as a result of this, many anons don't bring up invite only games here, so there is a far higher probability that tifa's game escaped scandal on that basis, rather than its moral excellence and outstanding modding.

The original post above is a mess though. Yes, Tifa's game may have wank because it's invite-only and that could have escaped wg's radar. True indeed. You (or that poster, if it's not you) could have left things at that and everyone would have nodded and gone "Yes, good point, there may be wank in them there hills, hidden from everyone." And your point about maybe the drama being hidden wouldn't been made.

But the post also had to bring up a whole thing about invite games and how they should be allowed on wg and how you're relegated to only vaguing on them a bloo bloo bloo. That's what was stupid and was a point of contention.

The thing with invite games is most of them are harmless and a single player quietly kicking up wank or outside players kicking up wank, as they sometimes do, deserves to be shut down. The majority of the playerbase doesn't have the right connections to even get into these places and aren't at risk of any conflict inside, unlike games anyone can traipse into.

By that token, games run by wankers are islands of wank that most sensible players wouldn't be invited into because you usually have to be a known drama hound or ass kisser to last long in those circles. If the wankers want to be off in their corner in their own island of drama, whatever.

It's not worth it to open all invite games up to drama just to allow some delicious deets from a bunch of wankers who will just cannibalize each other in quarantine anyway, while the rest of us get to ignore them.

nope, i've been in invite games before and subscribe to the idea that if people are doing their thing in a non-public place and only inflicting it on those who go out of their way to get an invite, leave them to their privacy. just summarizing an argument that's taken place here a number of times (whether wanking on invite games is or isn't allowed). there's never been a concrete answer.
