I used to play from RK before the information about the creator came out, and I personally wouldn't feel comfortable doing so now because that information frankly ruined it for me. But I wouldn't necessarily judge other people who play from it unless there are other red flags.

I think there is value in not actively buying/giving money to people who you find morally reprehensible. I don't think you are required to hate and not interact with any creative work produced by someone who is morally reprehensible for fear of being tagged as Supporting the Creator.

(That said, I also put Rowling in a special category because she actively uses the popularity of HP to argue that her transphobic opinions are also popular. To the best of my knowledge the writer of RK is not out there saying Kenshin is popular and so people agree that pedophilia is fine.)

for the first time in ages i looked at one of her tweets because of being told elon musk insulted her in a reply and JKR now exists in some weird alternate universe where the teens who are her primary intended audience are super supportive of her transphobia and all her ex-fans who have pointed out how hateful her views are aren't the parents of her modern target age range. like, as time has gone on her twitter has grown more and more unhinged and most of HER fans as opposed to wizarding world fans are TERFs who haven't even read her books. it's extremely bizarre and doesn't actually seem to resemble her behavior back in the early 00s when she was doing interviews and stuff at all. creepy how wealth corrupts.

This is how I'm hearing the news about the RK creator so thanks, I guess. RK was my absolute favorite anime in my 20s so this is a fucking bummer. I wouldn't necessarily judge anyone playing from it because perhaps they stopped following anime news for a long time but picked up an old beloved character out of nostalgia; that said, I don't think I could even watch it again, personally, with this knowledge. Oof.
