Yeah, that's basically it - I think it's an unnecessary, bad choice of words, but, like, in a "if you had been carefully scrutinising your wording you would have caught the ambiguity here" way, not in a "you are being unambiguously shitty or negligent" way?

I also think that, aside from people clearly not liking Tai, there's an aggravating factor on both sides of this being a high-emotion situation, which means both that Tai was less likely to be carefully proof-reading their responses because that wasn't necessarily something to think about when reacting to a horrible thing, AND that people are primed to take things in ways they aren't necessarily meant without thinking about what else could be meant. That's kind of the nature of how people react when upsetting things happen, and it's just sad how easy it is to talk past one another.

ayrt and i will admit i was one of the first ones who got annoyed at the wording (I didn't know Tai, but I misread it as the first one), so I thought it was tasteless, but I agree with your point. it didn't have malice, just kind of "dude, tpo?" kind of reaction. looking at it now, i still think it was unnecessary to add despite what was meant, but i understand why people got really upset about it. the login is a hit or miss? this person seems really hated.

i have no issue with ocs but if this is the "lest they leave" person my only thing is that it's needlessly confusing. i can't google anything about the book or universe or whatever other details like i could with a lesser known or obscure canon, so why not just say lest they leave/oc or something like that?

there's zero reason to do that other than to try to trick people into thinking it's an actual canon character rather than an oc. if their book or whatever isn't actually published then stop trying to pretend they're anything other than your oc.

You are too immature to be running a game, specifically in the arena of moderating a community. Not every question or criticism is an attack. Your constant negative self-talk in public view of your players is disgusting. You need to step aside and do some work on yourself, instead of making your players shoulder the weight of your nasty attitude.

nayrt and i understand what you're saying but i was once in a game with someone like this so i can imagine the place it comes from.

when asking "hey, are adds being done this week?" gets a mod meltdown about how hard modding is, how useless they must be at it and how they should quit rp forever because everyone hates them and their characters, players have to tiptoe and avoid asking normal questions because they're afraid of setting off the mod. i'd say exhausting instead of disgusting, but it's definitely immature.

this was years ago and not on dw so if this one is similar there are at least two mods out there acting like this. my sympathy for someone's sensitivity or insecurities ends when they start taking their bad feelings out on other people who didn't do anything wrong.

it's very fucking easy to say "i'm sorry for your loss" and move on. you shouldn't have to watch your words because this isn't a hard concept at all.

I just needed to vent because I know I cannot approach this person and even say something as gentle as “that was a bit harsh” or “you’re being pretty negative” without fielding a world-shaking pity party and three days of them being too depressed to do anything, thus punishing everyone else in the game.

(And worse, this person then has a habit of going and deleting whole conversations in the discord, so you start questioning reality. “Was I being mean? No, I thought that was pretty neutral…right?” I’m pretty sure that’s actual gaslighting.)

tai also has a long history of bullying people out of games, so i'd take any claim they or their friends make about what counts as "bad behavior" with a grain of salt when they've been long-time problem players in this hobby themselves.

I know at least three people who were harassed by SilverGrimalkin/Daisies (who went by Mina then) but because Beck was protecting her and explicitly because it was so hard for Beck to get a shipping partner, nothing could be done.

I managed to reach two of the three and both of them moved on from the community but maybe they’ll provide the deets anons are so hungry for. Mina does a fine job getting herself banned for the usual bananas behavior now that her ship isn’t modding her game though.

Tai is awful. I wasn’t aware of their dumbass tone deaf comment to Tess’s tragic loss because I have that twat blocked.

That’s not the same thing as saying Tai was lying about Beck. Beck was an obvious anon mod of her game and outed herself early in its history due to a post while logged into a personal account instead of the mod login.

i was present for one instance of the "ship pushing and harassing" in question and it absolutely did not go down as described by tai and co. ask for the caps. they're bullies.
