What is smol bean delicacy other than something that sounds skippable in a buffet line

i hate it when a thread that was at first going along smoothly (each of us tagging once or twice a day, enjoying one another's tags) suddenly starts getting tagged back slower and slower until it all but grinds to a halt. i know backtagging is a thing and i know that we can't always keep up the momentum of a thread the way it starts off in the beginning, but man i find it sooo hard to continue the thought process behind where the particular thread was going when it starts being five, six, eight to ten days inbetween tags.

for my part i'm usually pretty good about not letting a tag sit for more than two days before getting back to it, but when you have a thread partner who is busier and can't get back to it for an entire week, it's really hard for me to get back into that headspace that i haven't been thinking about for that long. then i start to worry that maybe the reason my thread partner is taking longer and longer inbetween responses is because my replying tags aren't as good anymore.

this anyone else's experience, or is it just me that has a problem with long gaps between tags?
