I think that they are the sweetest person and have been nothing but kind. That being said, when I posted a reply to them it was clear that they read absolutely nothing in my post so it led me to just sorta shrug and slowly ween myself off the thread in question. If I'm not given anything to work with in a reply, my desire to RP with you lessens considerably.

Those same people that point it out usually have other people's fanart for characters with DNT attached to them lbr.

biphobia and bierasure is absolutely a thing i've experienced even just recently and tentatively coming out. it comes from outside and it comes from other queer folks.

it's not in your face; it's these little passive aggressive microaggressions that happen meant to dismiss you as not being "real enough" or paint you as "greedy" or "unfaithful". it sucks.

Speaking as a bisexual white woman: it sucks, but the biggest issue facing the queer community these days isn’t catty gatekeeping comments. The fact that those are the examples of oppression people have brought up demonstrates a lack of comparison. Bitchy comments suck, but do we do need to talk about them 4x as much as we talk about queer homelessness or restricting access to trans medical care or NB kids committing suicide at high rates? Why are people here convinced that intercommunity gay drama is as bad as states banning fertility procedures used by same-sex couples or banning trans kids from transitioning at school? Someone up thread said that the queer community is more oppressive to them than straights and that’s a deeply sheltered view, because the queer community is catty but members of the straight community want to pass laws to kill us.

Why are you acting like it's the oppression Olympics and we can't have conversations about all of these things?

bro, come on. don't misrepresent. they said that in their personal experience, the worst biphobia they personally experienced on a clear day to day basis was from lgbt people. they didn't say the broader queer community is being more oppressive on a systemic scale, they illustrated how their personal life, anecdotally, was littered with more micro-aggressions from the lgbt community questioning their bisexuality.

it's really uncool of you to be effectively reducing, if not invalidating their experience as a "deeply sheltered view" just because their personal grievance pales against the broader picture of global injustice, and i'm sure that's not a standard at which you'd like your every complaint and experience to be held, either. sit down.

people are allowed to feel slighted by other gays obviously but it feels a little "my mercedes got a flat tire and i cried all day" when people are literally being killed because they're trans in the wrong place, teenagers dealing with homelessness because their straight parents said get the fuck out, etc. hell i know a guy who got fired from a good job only a year ago for admitting he was going to a pride parade after not being out at work, but of course they said it was because they felt his attitude was lacking or some shit because you can't disprove that

and yet someone is still allowed to be upset that their thing is broken, no matter if it's a luxury item or not. this is like the argument of transwomen gatekeeping ciswomen 'not being grateful of their pain' and screaming down ciswomen for mentioning period cramps or pregnancy complaints because 'at least you have a uterus'. one thing is not like the other. one thing doesn't have to be like the other. and it's perfectly valid for a bisexual person in any type of relationship to be able to make a complaint about biphobia and bierasure without having someone swoop in and scream them down about how their shit isn't the real shit and real shit involves death threats and rape.

stop with the crab in the bucket mentality. pain is pain. complain about trans homelessness in another thread or another plurk and it will be equally valid as a discussion there, but invalidating this is kind of proving the point.
