it was going to be always-online but anthem bombed so hard that EA had to pivot. not a great sign that they haven't said anything about microtransactions though. people didn't shit on dragon's dogma hard enough

didn't have to with dragon's dogma. modders to the rescue, there. they made mods designed specifically to undercut the microtransactions by essentially giving them to the player for free. that was a much bigger 'fuck you' to capcom, imo.

we've been reporting them for years. mods basically kept telling us to get lost until a month or two ago, you can check it the concerns page and see for yourself

it looks like they actually brought in someone new to moderate the memes

Speaking as someone in the video game industry: people aren't really optimistic DAV'll be any good since all the major creatives behind previous DA games either left or were let go. I'm suspending judgment until at least I see a proper gameplay trailer, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I haven't been hopeful since the layoffs and I'm shocked we're apparently getting the game at all. I'm a total whore for the series so I'll play it eventually, but I'm not going to preorder + midnight pick it up or anything.

Lab is wankfree partly because nobody speaks up when they encounter issues. I transitioned as a trans person and they insisted that if I stay, I state my deadname everywhere when speaking. This made me uncomfortable so I left.
