i watch doro44 on youtube as he does his playthroughs on both genshin and hsr and he's a) a cishet dude who's gf comes on sometimes to pull for him, and b) kind of fun to watch. i don't know if you meant online here in dwrp, but the streamerverse has loads of straight dudes getting drooly over shenhe and arlecchino and jade. i just started wuthering waves tonight and i can see much more gratuitous boob movement, which leads me to think it's very much male gaze oriented.

isn't picrew just a basic ai art generator? you guide it and lap bits together like paper dolls but it takes those bits from editing art styles loaded into it. looking through the image makers it was clear they were using all kinds of artists styles. don't see how it is morally or ethically better just because it's older and lower res.

I can assure you that most genuinely good digital artists feel just as threatened by AI as the less skilled or beginner artists, if not more so because they have more to lose in terms of income if they sell their work.

There's plenty of pros who have lost work to AI, who have had their work specifically fed to datasets to use their style or harass them, but then outside of that it's causing tangible troubles in other creative fields like graphic design, voice acting, writing, etc.

Is it likely that art schools are going to see a decline in students now that AI is encroaching on the art turf? Has AI rendered art schools an even bigger waste of time than they were before? Are art degrees even more useless in the real world than they were before?
