how populated a given canon's setting is for fandom oc fabrication is like the least pressing issue ppl have with fandom ocs and you know this

the notable case ive seen running around bakerstreet lately isn't even just some rando from a new planet, oh no, she's also "a porter on the Express, you know, the one that all the main Express-riding characters should totally know" and also "the Emanator of an Aeon the player made up wholesale who's super powerful but that's a secret and she has ~angst~ about it" and "once saved the train from a massive body of water with some of those super powers it was really cool whoa" and

i mean you know it just goes on

...actually i think a lot of their problems could be avoided by getting better at taking the L of rp rejection in general and learning how to move on

i wish i could admire it because it's in some ways a better emotional response than, say, calling everyone meanies and flouncing

but on the other hand, if you have to ask how to rp a canon character so they sound like themselves, this is the worst possible rp platform for you and you should probably just find a different one

it's either funnier or more pathetic, depending on perspective, when there is another thread from a newbie who admitted they are new to dwrp and asked nicely for input. it is entirely possible to be normal about this but that fandom oc player chose the embarrassing hill.

the bio's just a very funny read tbh, there's so much weirdly unnecessarily dramatic stuff pulled out of nowhere for the pure sake of making the character So Special And Unique, it makes her seem like an import from a completely different story with fancy star rail serial numbers forcibly stamped on top

and it's a shame bc there's so much to work with in the existing canon to create some funky space citizen that might be actually interesting to thread with. give me a robot intellitron oc with some interesting stuff going on with their robo-ness. or a bounty hunter that's aware of the bigger canon criminals in the game and wants in on the warrant cash. or maybe some poor bastard working for the IPC who's heard of all the big events in the main story only secondhand but gets comically sucked into shenans way over his paygrade or smth (well i guess that's just velite actually lmao)

anyway imo 'powerful secret Emanator girl of a made up Aeon who works on the MC's special train' is one of the most boring oc routes they could have taken in this verse but here we are smh

Agreed, the star rail universe is HUGE! There's lots of room for Fandom OCs. Just, you know, don't make them besties with the main cast.

because they likely want a not like other girls bonding moment with the resident waterbender on the express, don’t you know how self-inserts work. they do it to self-ship with the cock they want, so they give them similar traits. it’s bad YA fiction 101.

march 7th is the same spunky-sweet character type but she isn’t super op or openly dramatic about her trauma so the player wouldn't get nearly enough h/c or powergurl moments for playing her.

i think they already have a stelle account specifically for riding dan heng's dick lol
