this has been said over and over again, but it isn't "just as good"

I just saw someone with ai icons that made me wonder if they were from some shitty free game because they looked slightly different and homogeneous at the same time, with only vaguely different expressions, like a broke game studio paid a bad artist to copy several different works and add a specific feature

it only occurred to me afterward that they must have been AI, but it was so off-putting that I wouldn't have tagged them anyway. if you think it looks like commissioned art you need your eyes checked
