this isn't in good faith but for anyone else wondering: the game is intended to go at a slower pace to allow for players to keep up with events if they can't manage a "normal" game schedule.

personally i think it will be a small game that will either be very quiet and slow or will just fade out of existence again as people lose interest but there's nothing wrong with it existing. if you don't like it don't app. simple.

this is literally what folkmore is like, except they don't force you to go slower if you want to move at 1:1. but it does allow for slower than that without it causing issues with timeline. more games should be like that imo

i'm sorry but if you can't keep up with a 5 comment ac game that has a single event per month then you have no business being in a game period because that's already as slow and low-commitment as it gets.

if they just keep fiddling with the expectations and shaming people just right they'll eventually find the setting that lets them rp without actually having to rp.

I can't remember if this is the same game but I remember someone trying to make a game like this and they were actually allowing people to hand in activity check comments that were just a summary of plurk plotting posts and ideas for what their character had been doing, and they would count it as RP activity.

i remember that too lol. this is definitely the kind of "game" that will self-select for the people you aren't rping with anyway so it's funny but nbd to me

i know some people are just stressed by the requirement of ac. like they make more than that every month if it isn't required but the requirement causes stress sufficient that they end up struggling. which is a disability thing that is actually also very common with ADHD, anons who keep finding out their brains are weird from wg!

this is why there are a few very active check-in games most likely. one would think no requirement would result in not being prioritized, but the lack of requirement is an incentive to some people/the lack of requirement to count comments or determine how keyed to plot something is (or in the case of fade rift i think their ac is one comment) keeps the game more of a "game" mindset and feels less like a responsibility.

i am not one of these people, but i know a few of them and can see the perspective. yes i know there will now be wank about how 5 comments is one thread and not really a responsibility but if we are talking disability, it is probably this kind of thing plus the sleep disorders that make tagging daily hard to commit to even if you actually can do it you just don't want to make it required.
