(Anonymous) 2024-06-23 06:20 am (UTC)(link)i wouldn't implement anything that punished characters or players who weren't interested in smut. at that point it's not about the new players liking that element of the game and wanting to focus on it, it's them wanting to penalise and push out others who don't share their preferences. if i have players who prefer the gen fantasy content, i don't want them to feel unwelcome. the answer to "this player doesn't interact with the sex part enough" is "that's fine, they're not required to".
so, shift the focus of the game a little, yes. change the structure of the game or ooc mechanics, no. and that holds for any two genres - if i have a sci-fi horror game and a bunch of horror fans join, i won't drop the sci-fi part because they're less keen on it. might plan some more spooky stuff though.
