I have yet to see a chronic e-beggar who wasn't actually just wasting their money on useless shit like figures or gachas and getting mad at people for daring to tell them to use their money wisely so please ban them. One-off ones, I might consider helping depending on how reasonable their situation is.

genuinely wondering where you guys find these ebeggars coz the people on my timeline who can afford holidays abroad at least once a year are always talking about investing and saving on mortgages and getting groceries on sale

ayrt in my case i have people on my timeline who just replurks every e-begging plurk they see. i used to check the plurks to see what they're previous plurks were like and there will always be multiple plurks about a big, unnecessary purchase like a disneyland trip, large tattoos, new expensive figures, etc followed by plurks begging for money because they can't make rent or get groceries because they spent it all.

Nowadays I just unfollow replurk everyone who does it, so I don't see it as much anymore.

I used to see these plurks ALL THE TIME until I tracked down that it was literally just two people who were replurking all of them. One of them I hadn't talked to in forever so I just unfriended them, the other I still talked to regularly so I turned off replurks from them. Now it's deeply rare for me to see any. It also means I pay more attention to the ones that do land on my timeline since the people who replurk them are more likely to be discerning about fundraisers.

block the beggar. it's only a small number people who are holding their hands out consistently. once you silence them you'll be free, save for the occasional pet emergency.

i'm friends with a lot of people who naively think they're helping by replurking everyone's cry for help.

i've unfollowed replurks for the worst offenders, but there's still some that leak through
