as someone who has spent time caring for someone with a terminal illness in this very year 2024, i would like to deliver to you a very heartfelt fuck you.

i don't care if you're trolling. if you have never stepped into a room where someone you love is dying, and scared, and in pain, and felt the weight of that close itself around you, you don't get to have opinions on ~what you would do~. guess what: you don't fucking know what you would do.

and if you have done that, and you still don't understand why that person might need to decompress at the end of the day, then i'd argue an empathy-less void like you shouldn't be left alone with someone who's dying and vulnerable in the first place.
