The new hydro girl just looks like even more pale Nilou, new dendro guy is just human Tighnari with better hair. The new Geo girl looks cute, but the glow effect caused by whatever that skill is just makes her look like she's made of gold because of the lack of contrasting colors.

i have never seen anyone talk about it in the states, but shang-chi had some overseas detractors who didn't like that marvel cast 'ugly' asians to star. simu liu and awkwafina are considered to be too "dark" skinned and small eyed to be attractive. compare them to chinese stars in current dramas/movies in china and you'll see what i mean, nearly all of them are extremely pale.
