wouldnt be surprised either. milk and simcha got on her shitlist for not letting her godmod powergame the deer games into the ground and declare her blorbos kings of both games. but she sure tried. and bitched in her clique discords about it, so it was always funny to see her kissing milks ass on plurk.

i thought the second deer game closed at least partly because of rona exhausting simcha to the point of it not being fun anymore tbh but milk was gone by then so maybe they're still "friends"

Re: milk

(Anonymous) 2024-07-10 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
no, milk definitely is no longer friends with simcha.

Re: milk

Yeah Simcha and Milk had a falling out, just like Milk does with every friend that steps up to mod their games for them. But I think Milk and Rona are still "friends".

basically anyone milk ever says they had a problem with probably more accurately had a problem with milk. there is a reason milk goes through rp partners like tissue paper.

Based on what I was privy to I think you’re right on the money about Rona and her sycophants ruining Deer Country for everyone with their powergaming. Rona is genuinely a menace obsessed with playing the most powerful and main characters in every game she’s in and doesn’t care about anyone else’s fun, she’s a headache for mods. The Deer mod team had already been dealing with that in the first game, can’t blame Simcha for not wanting to deal with several more years of it. Then when Beth and Rona tried to take control of Deer Country to turn it into their own private sandbox at the end, I’m glad Simcha told them to go pound sand.

I've been in a few games adjacent to these people without issue and see this powergaming accusation a lot and I take it with a grain of salt because some people say powergaming but what they really mean is "I don't like it that this person affected the entire game and now I have to think about it" as if everyone isn't playing in a shared setting.

I assume these are the same people who got upset whenever anyone would do anything at all that might affect their slice of life rp including killing the sandbox because they wanted a completely static setting and didn't want anyone to ever change anything about it.

Re: milk

there's more than one? goodluckmodes on plurk is the one frequently accused of being rona and milk's fangirl

Re: milk

(Anonymous) 2024-07-12 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
there's like three

but that's the one who would pass out just being within several feet of this place

this just came up a post or two ago, there are like 5 of them. so you really do have to specify which batty you mean.

you're right but rona's grudgewankers have lived here for years so don't bother

Re: milk

(Anonymous) 2024-07-12 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
calling it grudgewank is a reach when the criticisms leveled at her are accurate. she hasn't changed in years. i've also seen identical complaints about her and beth and their group in namespace.

Re: milk

(Anonymous) 2024-07-12 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
This makes me sad, because I used to play with Rona and genuinely liked her as a person. I hoped it was being a younger player that was causing the self-centered behavior and inconsistent "friendships" and that she would grow out of it.

No idea who Beth is, but Rona had a lot of potential. When you're on her good side, she's fun and friendly. It's just that getting on her bad side seems very easy and also very out of nowhere: one day you're friends and the next day you're not. That's the sort of thing I hoped was a result of being 24. I had the same thoughts about Milk, who seems to have a lot of fun ideas but not a lot of patience.

Re: milk

(Anonymous) 2024-07-12 08:00 am (UTC)(link)
it's not grudgewank if it's a years-long pattern that continues to this day. it'd be one thing if this was ancient history that had no relevance to the present, but that is not the case.

Re: milk

(Anonymous) 2024-07-12 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
I haven't had a problem with Rona by herself, she did not bother me in Deerington. I think it's combining her with Beth which creates a nightmare. Beth always had to be the star of every show and would fake-nice with people and talk shit behind their backs worse than Tifa ever has. Rona did actually make time and space for other people's stories even if she was a flake who judged other people for flaking. If they had been what drove Milk to quit instead of the shipping wg says it was, I wouldn't blame Milk.

Re: milk

(Anonymous) 2024-07-12 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Milk has always taken credit for Simcha's work on Deer and the two eventually had a big falling out. I think Simcha only ever took over the game out of obligation and eventually got sick of Milk and all the players thinking of it as Milk's game.

I also checked out of curiosity and it looks like Rona is still on Simcha's friends list, but not Milk's. I'm sure some people have legitimate grievances with her (I sure do) but it's awfully convenient for Milk that every time she starts catching heat someone rushes in to pivot the thread to blaming Simcha's decision to quit on Rona.

It's true. Every time I have ever seen Milk get mentioned and someone brings up Deer Country, it immediately pivots to debating who killed the game and how which still has nothing to do with the fact that Milk left Simcha holding the bag to begin with. Maybe that group contributed to the game folding, but solo modding is an exhausting job on its own and the game continued on just fine with only Simcha modding it for a long time.

your theory is correct. in deerington milk acted like she wrote everything while simcha was just a helper mod. in reality simcha was writing all of the tdms and a lot of the events. but because milk wrote the "important" stuff (read: the boring npc info dump events and the bloated game info) it was her game. simcha did even more work in deer country and milk took even more credit for it. and then when milk left everyone started to fret and fuss about how they weren't sure the game would make it with the pillar of the mod team missing. when again simcha was doing the lion's share of the mod work and had been for years at that point.

deer country closing was always entirely about milk. but even people that claim to hate her are completely taken in by her public persona. which is why they're spinning conspiracy theories so they can blame literally anyone except her.

I don't really agree with the fact that deer country closing was entirely about milk. drama hit the fan around the same they stepped down which saw a large exodus in the game. Simcha did bring a breath of fresh air into the game when she stepped up as head mod, but within a few months she was hardly around because of irl priorities. You could tell months before that something was up when the games new metaplot abruptly ended just as it started to roll.

Simcha wanted to close the game and let it end on a high note but no one could accept that and everyone started showing their assholes.

The game slowly died a death of a thousand cuts and it was embarrassing to watch.
