how enjoyable can the setting be on the tdm though if you can't continue the cr you generate there, bc you can't app to the game, bc you're not friends with the mod?

it legit blows my mind that the mod thinks people are going to want to spend their tagging time tagging a tdm for a game they can't join and cr that will never be developed further past those threads

i have multiple longterm psls that i play that started and exist solely in memes. random reach outs from either side that just click and you realize you love everything about them and you want more. so you wind up with a few aus of the ship because you want everything ever. i have that with multiple characters across multiple players. it's a joy.

as someone who enjoys one off threads in memes and tdms that i don't end up apping to, i'll contradict the anon you replied to and then replied back. i do think it's fun to do one offs even if i don't/can't join right at that moment.

i know, actually enjoying rp is a sin around here, but sometimes it's fun just to try new things with no expectations about it becoming a big huge thing. sometimes it can be a thing, and you can meet people on tdms (i've pm'd folks to start independent stuff and i've also seen others on bakerstreet and we'll meme there together after), but also sometimes it's just doing a thread because i like writing. different perspectives.

da but... you can finish a tdm thread even if you aren't apping to the game? one of my friends recently posted a castmate to my game's tdm and even though she ended up not apping, we still got a fun thread out of it.

it would be nice to continue if it works out, but not continuing doesn't negate the fun i had doing the initial thread. also continuing can look like a lot of different things to me. it doesn't have to be in that exact game with that exact setting.

this makes perfect sense to me, even though i still think it's stupid to replurk a tdm for a game to your friends who can't join it

then unfollow your friend's replurks or block the mod plurk which is what the rest of us do for games we won't join

they do, plus a lot of people notoriously tdm in places they never plan to app to voice test or just for a good time. so there's nothing wrong with allowing people to tdm, as long as the expectations are clear.

i just don't see what's in it for shari, since if only people she knows can join anyway, having to mod over (take tdm and app questions) randos who will never be allowed in seems a bit inefficient. but maybe she doesn't care or knows her existing playerbase is so slow, the only way for newbies to get a decent taste of things on the test drive is to have strangers participate.

How you know that nobody in this thread is actually in saltburnt: there's an activity reward allowing players an invite. Plus Shari has proven willing to plurk add (and thus invite) new people her friends are excited about.
