hearing about the genshin/honkai community being cancer makes me relieved that tear of themis' fandom is relatively tiny compared to them. less people usually means it's more chill. doesn't mean it's devoid of wank, ofc

for those who don't play tot, the pity system is a guaranteed high rarity card for every 100 cards you pull. sss is the newest rarity that was implemented for the third anniversary of the game, and the cards come with a new mechanic where you get to touch the male leads and hear them moan/pant/sigh/etc. these anniversary cards in particular have the men being shirtless. said new mechanic uses hearts which you can fill up every time you tap on the ml of your choice. more hearts means more interactions. to unlock hearts, you need special tokens

in the old system, you have to pull FIVE copies of the sss card to get more tokens and unlock all hearts. this means if you're REALLY unlucky, you'll have to pull 500 cards to hit pity every time and it'll deplete your in-game currency really fast. naturally the chinese server's playerbase complained about this to mihoyo, and the devs from cn got rid of the old system

new system = you just need to pull THREE copies to get more tokens for unlocking more moaning/sighing/sussy dialogue. alternatively, you could also wait for events that include tokens as the reward and grind for those instead. most players opted to just pull one copy of their favorite guy and dip, or get one copy of all four guys and dip. only the most hardcore and down bad would whale massively for five copies of their husbando

anyway, global devs made a tweet announcing the sss system -- but it was the OLD system! none of the playerbase liked it! but a few hours after that, the tweet about the announcement got deleted and the devs apologized, hastily making a tweet about the new system instead. did an underpaid intern screw up, or was this all a pr stunt from mihoyo? who knows

man i kind of want to jump back in themis but i just totally lost interest in the story.

plus none of the guys are really my type since i like them fucked up and deranged but i doubt that mihoyo will ever put a character like that in the game

im with the anon above me, i gave it a look and the art style's pleasant and the ui's nice and sleek but i just can't get invested in the sole three guys that are your options...need me a beautiful morally questionable freak, and vyn just doesn't cut it for me rly

it's one of those games that's hard to enjoy if you just don't have much investment in any of the li candidates, which is probably why it's never gonna get as much fandom traction as hoyo's other titles
