yeah, this is correct. as much as I would have liked to see Alisa given some real consequences she dropped so fast that there was nothing for the mods to do.

I would think in most cases there'd be a ban on reapplying given the circumstances of bailing before the mods can ban you

the only caveat to this is dropping for not making AC before you can be removed, because that's mature instead of stupid. but in any other circumstance dropping before you get removed and then reapplying is ... dicey. then again does anywhere ban people for being swept

i've seen more than one game that has rules like "you're not allowed to reapply for x number of months if you're swept" which is honestly dumb as shit because you can have someone who has more than made ac every month but then if one month they have something happen irl and they forget to post their ac (even if they actually have enough), well tough titties to them, they have to sit in the corner and think about what they've done.

nayrt but it's even more dumb because people can more than make the AC amount by keeping up with their backtags but most games won't let you even use proofs older than a month. i think dwrp AC standards are really archaic in general at this point. with how slow dwrp has become you would think rules would be updated to accommodate backtagging instead of punishing it and encouraging people to drop all threads older than a month.

tbh it's a bit tricky for me because on one hand, yes backtagging is encouraged and we should have more ACs that allow you to use threads that were started a month or two ago for current AC so long as there are tags from this month. On the other, because of how events are structured, there's a chance people won't tag newer things just because of backtags, which could slowly kill a game. A lot of people also won't adjust to a quarterly event system because they'd say the game is dead (and let's face it, so many dwrpers have no patience) that could help with that.

i know some forum rpers work on a quarterly system for AC and events to accommodate for the slowness, but i don't know if that kind of system would work here where people expect new events every month but get overwhelmed with the amount of things to tag as a result.

eh, that one i actually agree with. tagging a thread that was started three months ago shouldn't count as current activity. if you're so slow that you have to use threads that are a few months old for ac then it's time to reconsider whether you really have the time or interest to be in a game.

every game that still has AC wants five goddamn comments.

if you can't manage a single five-comment thread that's actually from the game this month, you didn't play the game this month.

Honestly, this. The need to get rid of an open top level for ac as well. There's several people in the game I'm in who make open posts the last few days of the ac period, ignore all responses for a month and then do it again. One has made ac at least four months in a row now like that. I assume they'll hiatus this month and do it again for four more.
