I really hope your new canonmate on the tdm gets in next round. I hope they get tons of cr. Just so you have to watch them thrive ig after making a post about how you never tag one of your muse's canon love interests anywhere and not sure you would now. Laughing about how the cast is at cap was the icing on the cake and I'm so glad it's not now so the muse has a chance.

idk, i need more context on the new player. i've seen too many situations where newcomers app in without OOC commmunication and try to steamroll the preferences of current players.

at bare minimum, see if players of close canonmates are even interested with playing CR with you. this person is allowed to reject potential CR with this character for any reason.

nah that's still dumb. if bob and steve are best friends in canon, a bob player has every right to expect that if a steve apps, they're going to be able to play the friendship as it's depicted in canon. a bob apping in and then ignoring steve is being ooc and most games don't allow that.

if you want to just straight up ignore entire aspects of canon because you don't want to play it then this is not a character you should be playing in a game. keep them to memes and psls where you can choose to keep or ignore whatever parts of canon you want.

if you can't understand that people have the right to deny you in games, no matter what your subjective view of canon is or how stupid you think their reasoning for it is, i don't know what to tell you other than stay out of games yourself, anon. in my experience, most castmates aren't going to welcome a player who can't respect other people's boundaries, no matter how IC they believe they're being with their character by ignoring them.

OP didn't say they cared about whether or not the old player would reject the new player, just that they want the new player to get tonnes of CR and thrive where old player has to see it. Sounds more like they hope that new player's presence in the game (and potential popularity) makes the old player uncomfortable, not that they anticipate they'll feel any obligation to interact with them or acknowledge the pairing.

OP doesn't mention new player's attitude directly, but if new player is threading on the TDM and they app despite no input/active rejection from old player, they probably aren't there to ship push. This is apparently character/pairing hate on old player's part (saying they never tag the character, crowing about the cast meeting cap) so new player's behaviour isn't a catalyst there either.

The two clues we have suggest new player is fine and that even if they weren't, it wouldn't have any bearing on OP's feelings towards the other player.
