Aside from specific examples (one of the FE games is a direct sequel to the other, FF10 and FF10-2 are in the same world) none of the FE or Final Fantasy games are linked at all. Sharing a franchise name doesn't make them connected story-wise. If we count those two for franchise caps, then all the Hoyoverse games should be under one franchise cap too.

Franchise =/= Continuity

They do not need to be direct sequels to be considered a franchise. That's literally the difference between a Series and Franchise. Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy are a franchise, which is why saying those names brings to mind every single game within that franchise.

But Genshin Impact and ZZZ literally only have a publisher in common. They are not a singular franchise, they have completely different game play and audiences, you would not mentally lump them together if you only mentioned one or the other, and to argue otherwise makes you sound like an idiot.

Maybe, and that's a really strong maybe, in the wider outside world but not in dwrp that's for sure.

not in the outside world either, afaik figures have never been released but based on revenues and releases there's a huge overlap in their playerbases

which isn't surprising, given people's loyalty to/stanning for mihoyo and their obvious similarities

they have totally different gameplay, like mario kart and paper mario

weird because i thought the commonality was that they both had mario in them
