it's depressing that he hasn't changed since CDC, but at least this time he made his own game with his own weird rules instead of doing months of entitled bitching about the mods not running their game HIS way

he joined this one six months ago and the existing mods were stupid enough to give him power that he shouldn't have

rubi is my first time pel experience afaik so i don't actually know his history

he's just a very negative person. ime he's not going to gossip or godmod or start ship drama but he's unpleasant to talk to, seeks out negative cr so his characters can be mouthpieces for him to be a dick through, and complains and bitches constantly about games not being run how he thinks they should be run. he's come up on wg before and there's never "wank", he just sucks all the air out of a room. bad call to give him mod powers.

typically to mods and in feedback or ooc posts. i'll give him that, he's forthright and doesn't do the whole death by a thousand grapevines. he also often makes good arguments or suggestions in theory, but fails to grasp the impossibilities of implementing his ideas in practice. that's part of why his modding initiatives have largely failed in the past: he gets bogged down in details he can't manage and that everyone else just hates dealing with, because fundamentally everyone dislikes the bureaucracy elements of rp much more than they do dealing with the pockets of dissatisfaction they'd address.

take this AC tone shift, which i admit i'd also peg on pel: you can see what he's trying to do there, by exterminating the malady of people who talk about rp far more than they do it. we've all dealt with that one castmate or quest partner who always got gung ho in the plotting stage, then never turned up, and minimal threading materialized. we've all rolled our eyes and wished they'd drop already, so someone who actually wants to rp could step in. but the 0.01% of more happiness i'd get from having that no longer be an issue doesn't balance the pain in the neck of making sure every month that i meet an ultra specific (yet at the same time vague) metric.

you've hit the nail on the head. he isn't a real wanker and he's never done anything bad to me personally, but after seeing the way he browbeat the mods of my game when they didn't jump to implement all his suggestions of how to change the game setting to his liking, i'd give strong pause to allowing him in any game i modded.

it's honestly down to how long he can last. he will for sure burn out and drop, question is if he manages to take the game with him before that. that'd depend on how fragile the game is to begin with, how resistant to change and how bored with the setting. i'm not in it currently, so i can't say. the reality is, rubi never had the kind of amazing plotlines or events that would build a loyal playerbase. there's nothing special about it to guarantee that players would stick it out for the premise, if the vibe soured.

didn't he also mod that overly complicated time travel game, and also created a complicated and boring last voyages ripoff after whining for months that tlv was unrealistic

i don't remember the time travel game's name, only that it got wank about wwi being "too recent" for an rp setting

he was part of a clique that was bigmad about anybody playing tlv as touchy-feelsy redemption through the power of friendship instead of grim n' gritty punishment for past sins. they'd fixate hard on anyone they decided was playing the game wrong.

...isn't the entire point of tlv that characters are redeemed?

Was it called return journey? That games mod page doesn't have his name on it but iirc that was a tlv spinoff
